Looks like Konami of Japan doesn't take kindly to a US company using their cabinets to make a new dancing game:

Pretty serious, if you ask me. My guess is Roxor is gonna have to settle this out of court and pay some major royalties for their product.

Not surprising. I mean, if you want to make a new rhythm-action game you can at least do what the NeonFM folks are doing and create your own concept (even if in the end it just appears to be Beatmania played with your feet...). Of course, NeonFM gets triple props for licensing Freezepop for their product.

Ive never heard of a game called "In the groove"
how do you play it?
Is it like DDR?

In The Groove is a US-created game that's an 'upgrade' to DDR, and by 'upgrade' I mean 'to play it you need to gut an existing DDR machine and install the ITG hardware (aka "Boxor")

It's pretty similar, though. They do add some new concepts (3 and 4-panel steps where you need to use your hands) and mines (think of them as the anti-freeze) and a difficulty level that's basically for all the old DDR players' dickswing-gets (as in, I've already AAA'd 90% of DDR Extreme on Heavy, what's next?) Just about every song has a stepchart that compares favorably to Max 300 or harder in difficulty. DDR's foot rating goes to 10. ITG's goes to 13. Basically, it's hard.
