KS99's

Bump.
I got my /drk finished for tanking as nin/drk. I need some practice so if anyone has a mob I can practice on let me know so I wont be entering this ks99 tanking with /drk like a complete newbie.

There are plenty of links to strategies for this on BG and some groups have won with as little as 8 people although I kinda say the more the merrier.
 
Um that doesnt actually tell us anything other than you do ks99 on a wekly basis since we need to have forum acess to even read anything.

Well, all these posts makes me think I should put serious effort into recreating BlmOnry. A few of us have talked about the idea but I dont think anyone wants to take on the responsability.

For those that didnt know BlmOnry exisited for a couple months and had 20+ Blms. We were able to do 2 KSNM 99's relatively easy and we were doing them regularly. We never touched Early Bird Catches the Wyrm because strategy/setup was tricky for 18 blms. Recently I have successfully done EBCtW with Thethys. It may be possible to create a shell that does regular runs. BlmOnry fizzled because some people were bored with KSNM 99 and wanted to do other things with their time.

Personally I enjoy doing runs and would like to put something together but it can be difficult fitting these into my schedual.

Anyone interested in joining or supplying orbs send a pm or /tell in game so I can get a clearer understanding of the number of people interested.

If I created a shell it would be specifically to tackle KSNM 99 and would be very Blm based but not limited to blm.

I never asked for complete acess. I just Dislike paperwork in general when one could easily make a small page public concerning ls policies on how loot would be distributed in a ks99 if I asked your ls to help. Kinda like how stores have a price listing in thier advertisments.

From my research into the wyrm ks99 it's actually quite dependenton blm. Basically you get it to almost 70% then have a skillchain and all the blm magic burst on it like mad. ect ect then when it's near 30% setup for a huge burst again. The reason for this is that at 70% the dragon gets an upgrade and at 30% the dragon goes into hyper mode meaning a quick burst to knock it out almost of completely from 30% to dead is most efficient.

As far as lotting/drop rules in a KSNM shell. I think orb holder gets first pick of 1 item and rest is split between attending players is the best method. LS members would get their 1 drop plus 1/18 of the split on their own orbs. Non LS members would just get 1st pick of one item. Every run would have buyers on deck at the KSNM in case Black Belt items dropped. BB items would be sold for 1 mil or something near that price depending on demand. People specifically doing runs for BB item would of course get first pick on their orb if they would like to take BB item or other good drop(i.e. Speed Belt).

With this system orb holders should average around 500k-1mill each run and LS members would get around 50k a run. Luck does play a huge factor in those numbers.

Ideas and suggestions welcome!
 
You guys are really considering letting someone have a speed belt if it drops?

Speed belt could actually be evenly split among shell members and orb holder and orb holder would recieve another pick from the treasure pool. We recently sold one for 20 mil so an orb holder would still clear around 2 mil from the drop. Some people have shown a little interest in the shell but I'm reluctant to go forward with out some more commited help.

I will create a sack this week and pass out pearls to those interested in joining. I'm going to see how big our roster is. I think around 30 members would be nice if we are going to be able to get 18 to show up regularly.

Runs would be on weekends durring the afternoon around noon EST. I need people willing to handle drops and dealing with money. Drops often take a while to sell and you will likely want to have a couple mules to sell them on. If someone would like to set up a forum that would be nice too.

I'm thinking the name of the shell will be "Hired Guns" or maybe the "Magnificent17". For some reason a name related to westerns seems cool.
 
Don't see anything wrong with the donor getting the belt if that's the item he's going for.Since he/she can't afford it so i guess trying your chance in ks99 is best bet.

I have a 75 BLM and 6 stacks of 99KS's sitting in my Mog Locker.
 
Recreate BLMonry, that was a good shell, yeah, I was part of it too for the couple months :( I remember getting a nice reward from Shen run though.

As for KS99, I was looking into organizing one of these runs one day too. I just got my last seal to make up two stacks, and I've done enough KS30 already, but never done any 99. All I really care for much is getting speed belt, and then just gil outta it.
 
Is BlmOnly *really* blm only? Or or do you need any refreshers?

So I have been out of the countryand away from ffxi for the last 5 months or so.
I am back in America. =)
I came online today i read this thread and got all wet, im downloading the update now and going to pop online and see how everyone is doing later.

The one problem with BlmOnry that I remember was that it wasnt "endgame" and because of that people were busy with thier other shells during ks99 runs that they had signed up for.
Nicky if you do make a new shell, I wish you all the best with it /cheer
