KSNM30 Lot and Bailers

1. I'll be more than happy to agree with him ditching if there was any proof about him doing so. So far, there isn't any.

2. YoYD is the only fair way to do a pick up BC/KSNM, otherwise, whoever has the pool can easily horde the money unfairly.

3. Why? Not everyone is an asshole.

4. This is just an arrogant reiteration of point #1

5. Mdkuser is correct on his rather simple strategy, but that's about all he is right on. I see you aren't defending his attitude though, so I have nothing else to say there.

1. He ditched.

2. YOYD with people you only know provides the best experience.

3. Why? Because there are asshole ditchers like Minmew and other people who ninlot and or ditch after getting what they want. And back to point two.

1. Fine, I wont argue this point anymore.

2. Didn't you just say a few posts back that YoYD sucked?

3. Go to a reviews website. You'll find an outstandingly larger amount of negative reviews than positive reviews. Why? If you buy a product and love it, you're a lot less compelled to go onto a website and tell everyone else how awesome it is than to go tell everyone how much it sucks. Clearly, to keep them away.

Moving on to the point of that statement, plenty of people do this kind of thing. You hear more about the bad situations because they're.. bad situations. No one is going to go post in good times because they had average every day pick up KS30 run #1532. I've never been dicked like this before, but if I did, yeah, I would post it. It wouldn't keep me from going more, though.

2. Yes, sorry I meant doing instanced battles with people you know provides the best experience.

I can see where you stand tho. But in general going to these things with people you don't know, is asking for trouble. You're lucky you've never been in a crapshoot like most of us have been. I've been in a few myself years ago, learned the hard way. Never know until it happens to you.

Oh so this happened to you once and every similar situation instantly ends up the same before the person in question even has a chance to explain themselves.

I kinda had a notion that this thread may had been rerailed as you gave me the impression you had a beef with this person.
Looks like I am in for a great disapointment here seeing a generalization of something you been through once years ago.

Whatever, point of this thread is to don't invite Minmew to anything like this. Just like every other flame on people who do something similar.

Shit happens, get dicked once, you remember it. Think I remember all of my positive experiences? Nope. I don't know Minmew personally (so no beef) but his reputation sits as a ditcher to some people on this server and this thread backs it up.

My reasoning, probably skipped it:
Oh please, you know when someone ditches something like this, when they get back they'll make up some excuse like "my brother was in jail and I had to come up with $25,000 in one night to bail him out". And ISPs are pretty stable these days even if you're with a one like Comcast. If it goes offline, it only does so for a only few mins.

Very very rarely does your ISP cut off for hours or days. And even if it does it's usually in the beginning or end of the month while they're doing maintenance.

And Dialup? Sad to say Dialup never goes down.

What I do expect is Minmew getting online and telling kats or this thread
"I DCed 'or' <reason> <some statement baiting you to feel sorry for me> <believe it or not I'm telling the truth> <an empty appology> <take care>."

Point was made, wheather my posts and ideas dissapoint you, I couldn't less of a shit than I already do.

Good day.

All I can say is that I WISH, really WISH, I lived in your fantasy world where ISPs were perfect. I only have one cable ISP provider to choose from, Charter. Almost every week at least once if not more than once, my internet will go out for 30-60 minutes without warning and without any pattern to it. I've actually had to miss running my own dynamis shell once because of it. Even when that's not happening I routinely have my net drop for a minute or two at random times almost daily. Ask anyone in shakenbake, I red-dot/lag/dc almost weekly from our events. It's pretty much a running joke that I'll be R0ing during events. :/

Comcast is supposedly moving into our area this year and you can bet your ass I'm switching to them as soon as it's possible, but until then I'm stuck on a provider that actually DOES go out.

Must be a very localized instance then. Comcast has it's own flaws too here, about once a month it'll go out from 2am-5am and I have to swap to cellular. They call it maintenance. But it's weird everyone else I know who has Comcast doesn't experience this problem ;x... Even people living under my same subnet >_>

I had to go through that stuff on a smaller scale when Comcast had just bought out Time Warner in this area and was going through the transition phase.

When you use the internet consistently, like on a MMO, it becomes far more annoying than it should be.

God, I miss time warner. I had an uptime of 41 straight days with those guys. QQ

The govenment is tracking your child porn. Oh wait, you don't live in England.

I wish I could say the same.

I live 3 miles from the AMS-IX.

One of the world's biggest internet hubs.

My internet providers is the oldest telecom providers of my country.
Holland is kind of renowned for having a very advanced internet network currently offering speeds up to 160Mbps.
Yet being without internet for half a day or more unfortunately still is not uncommon.

And Dialup never going down?
HAH I wish.

I miss those days. When we had dialup, it would never DC. Then DSL came in but our house is about... 30 years old now so our phone lines couldn't sustain a connection for more than 30 mins. That was truly hell, especially days of Napster. Then it's been Comcast since, only problem we've had was the one I mentioned.

:shok:

Shame you guys don't have Shaw Cable or Telus highspeed DSL. Shaw only let me down once (actually I thought it was them but it turned out to be PoL - my cable worked fine, just couldn't connect to PoL) and Telus never let me down.

terrorist attacked the world trade center, so iraq must have weapons of mass destruction. that is the only answer. couple months later "mission acomplished banner"

do you know how dumb you sound making concrete statements without being there, being a witness, or hearing the plea of the defendant? yeah, your in touch with relality....

We've had some pretty choppy service with Verizon (DSL) back in the day.

But today a majority of people with solid state, non login broadband have close to 100% uptime.

Forgot to mention only Dialup I've used were direct terminal login. meaning no 3rd party software like AoL, Compuserve, Prodigy or whatever was popular. As long you had solid modem, the connection would never die.

Yeah, I'm very stupid. You can quote me on that too. And nope I know nothing of reality. Happy? :). Take care.

as long as you admit it and interate that all aforementioned posts are irrelevant, everythings fine.

YES. Or when you work from home doing a job that requires internet access. "Sorry boss, net's down again, I'll get right on that as soon as I can...". Also, a random one minute net hiccup is enough to boot you from the game. I almost lost my dryad's staff the day after I started playing ffxi again because my net hiccupped after I lotted it. Luckily everyone was able to pass it. :/

who the fuck does KS30?

I'm so glad this has gone away from the Salvage bull.

Off: A similar occurrence happened to someone who was due a piece of gear in Dynamis a while back. I was very glad to see everyone pass on the piece before the person pinged out.

On: Shit happens, ISPs aren't 100% uptime, and if you think they are or even should be, you're smoking something non-medicinally.
