Anyone else pick this game up yet? I picked it up today since it was the game I have been looking forward to for so long, and I am pretty disappointed. Why on earth this game was delayed for a long damn time is beyond me. I feel like I am flying a brick. I wish they included the option to allow flight controls to be done with the analog sticks. Plus, they made targeting way to easy, and basically a couple shots will bring anything down. The only time I have died so far was when I landed to kill some of the ground infantry before I killed the dragons flying above, so they all just surrounded me and lit me up. I should have checked to see what my current objective was.

The story isn't anything great, 1 faction of people ended up splitting into 2, and now they are at war, and whoever controls the skies controls the land. Voice acting is decent during cutscenes, but very annoying while in flight during gameplay as it gets rather repetitive.

I give it a 6/10. There is so much more they could have done. I would have thought the guys that did Rogue Squadron would know how to implement controls for flight a little better.

Its not great, but i am enjoying it. I think i was looking foward to it so much i wont let it be bad lol. You can play without Sixaxis, just insert PS2 controller^^ Improves the game alot, tho i dont mind sixaxis.

Thanks for the comments. Picking up Tiger Woods for sure now instead, was gonna be a toss-up

I might just have to go buy the adapter to do this. I have a feeling it will make this game much better for me. The easiness factor I can deal with if I have good controls. I haven't noticed a difficulty setting anywhere unless I am completely missing it.

My Husband and son are playing the game right now. They both are enjoying it.

I agree it's not all it was hyped up to be, but it's still fun. I think we all know what could fix this six-axis flying solution: Power Glove! :-)

I guess Drakengard was better :P

Both equally fantastic games. The only bad part of Lair was the motion controls are a bit buggy but if you get used to them they're really not that bad at all. Drakengard lacked in the visual splendor, so this is a step in the right direction.

Ok look. I have the controls down pack. And i honestly am thinking the reviewers were just lazy. You need to be very um... soft with the controls. Once you learn to be soft the game moves perfect. The visuals are just fine as is everything else. Now this game is not incredible but its damn good.

I dunno... I've not played Lair yet but I'm guessing you don't level any weapons up and well.. I enjoyed that

Yeah, I actually got much better with the controls. And it finally did get harder near the end. Very short game though, but was fun for a bit once I got the slight motions down they wanted for controls. I will increase my rating to a 7.5.

I hear that firmware update we just had improved Lair controls as well as Warhawk connectivity. Couldn't tell you cause I haven't gotten Lair yet. I'm planning on picking it up though, reviews be damned. Just with Warhawk consuming my very soul and Heavenly Sword coming out, Lair was never a top priority. It'll be nice though since there's not much I'm interested in between Heavenly Sword and November.

PS People: Don't lump Lair in with Heavenly Sword and Warhawk. They are 3 different games, and just cause 1 got bad reviews means nothing as far as the quality of the other 2. Heard nothing but great stuff about Heavenly Sword and from experience I know Warhawk is a fucking masterpiece.

Lair was one of the reasons I picked up a PS3, so I guess that is why I was pretty disappointed. I have a thing for dragons, what can I say? lol

I'd have been more hyped if not for the whole motion control scheme. I'm sure they did it well and all just not really the way I want to game. Only reason I got Wii is Smash Bros Brawl can be played with gamecube controllers. That said, I'm a sucker for great graphics and surround sound so I'll pick it up anyway.

I'm also a bit skeptical on these reviews. It's just speculation as I haven't actually played it myself but seems like a lot of PS3 games are being graded as system sellers not as games themselves. As in, "If you're intending to buy a PS3 to play this game, this is our opinion on the joint purchase of a PS3 and this game." So the expectations are so high as they view it as a $560 purchase not a $60 purchase.

Just how it feels to me, because I doubt if it was a 360 game it would have gotten the same low scores all around.

I didn't know that it was going to be Sixaxis control only, and was hoping there would be analog maneuvering included. But once I got the hang of it, it wasn't as bad as I had originally stated, and even using a PS2 controller to play is still a good idea.

Lair wasn't the only game I wanted for PS3, but it was the first big name I was looking forward to.

I <3 Warhawk. Lair is something I'll pick up for sure. Heavenly Sword seems fun but I was so disappointed with the Demo :\ I'm still laying all my hopes on Assassin's Creed which, I'm still not sure when it's coming out. I've heard September (late), I've heard November, I'm just not sure anymore, but Assassin's Creed is the game that'll prolly make me play my PS3 (for a PS3 game) hours on end :P (I already use my PS3 for movies, music from TV if I'm playing a game on computer or PS2 or PS1 games, rawr)

So I finally picked up Lair. It's not the game it was hyped to be, but the reviewers giving it like 4s and 5s are fucking retards. It's well done for what it is, which is a dragon riding aerial combat game that's based around using the sixaxis.(I just plugged in one of those recoil Playstation style usb gamepads and set it as controller 1 (have no other controllers on and then plug it in), then I set a regular sixaxis to controller 1 and I was able to use the stick to steer.

I don't really like motion control, so it was preferable to me. But it's implemented as well as any Wii game. I'd... yet again, find some way to play wii without motion controls every chance I get if such a chance was available.
