Last Night's Battle with King Behemoth^^

Here are a few pix of a battle I watch last night in Behemoths Domain. I actually participated in camping (and hoping for) the Behemoth for about 2 hours but it didnt spawn in the alotted time. I broke away from the alliance and was about 3/4 way out of BD when I got a flash LS message that the King Behemoth spawned instead of the wanted regular Behemoth. I turned around immediately and noticed a lot of the other competing alliance members were running towards the exit. I've never seen a King Behemoth up close so my curiousity was sparked. Once I got to the "arena" there he was in full HNM glory. There were a few dead folks lying around which led to immediate /tells for tractors and Raise II's. After a few minutes, I was psyched to see the force that came for the challenge. A bunch of level 75 Japanese players all decked out in uber gear gathered at the opening and began there kick ass buffing routine. At the head of the group were 3 Paladins: 1 mithra, 1 elvaan, and 1 galka. Each of them wore combinations of Konig armor , Adaman armor, and Artifact 2 armor. They killed any nearby elements to build TP and some ate incarus wings. Once they were all set, one flanked the right side, the other flanked the left, and the Galka PLD went straight down the middle towards the King himself. Following the Paladins were MNKS, DRKS, and a slew of Mages all in Vermillion Cloaks, Darkstaffs and Icestaffs. It was a site to see. Ashe (the Galka Paladin) immediately got aggroed right before he voked. Their strategy was simple but coordinated. They had built enough TP to each perform Spirits Within before disengaging. The rest of the battle consisted of the PLD's running around the whole arena switching off voking/curing themselves, while the BLM's Nuked like no tomorrow, the WHM's cured, RDM's refreshed, and BRDs do what Brds do :) . I ran around taking pix via fraps and curing the PLD's when I had the mp. I got nailed 4 times by Meteor.. obviously not in a row, so I was able to heal up between hits. The AoE range is pretty large and it hurts more the closer you are to the King. The max damage I took yesterday from Meteor was 980+. Anyways.. here are the pix and enjoy. I have a hundred more, but they are a bit repetitive.

woooo, that lunge shot is badazz. u lucky bastage u. maybe one day ill be higher lvl and we can take a nm together....and ill get us all killed... :shock: EMOTICONS!

:D i was there too jazper if you saw me.
i actually provoked the spawn, thinking it was a regular behemoth but BAM death....
you guys left like 5 min before it spawned.
i got to stick around and watch the fight, but i stayed out of meteor range except once it got me, the one that took out about 6 of the ppl waching took me to 69 health :shock: but i lived!!!!

Thanks guys for the comments. :D Definitely Pseulen.. I really want to fight this bad boy. Yeah Kyrial, The King moves damn fast.. and when I saw him coming at me after I threw a cure 4, I was like :shock: hmmm.. now would be a good time to run. Luckily, right before he got to me, Ashe voked and got Mr. King's attention.

MISTAYA!!! Yes, I saw you there^^. That camping part sucked ey? I think I am about 5 presses of my voke macro from full blown Carpal Tunnel Syndrome hehehe. Once our 2 BLM's left.. we had to called it a night... and thankfully we did LOL. Did you respawn at your HP or did you get a Raise II? It was funny coz our RDM Turkloom was there and wanted to show how brave he was. He did his typical Phalanx buff up and told me to watch while he pulls his tail. He didnt even come to like 30 feet from behind the King when the King aggroed him.. luckily he was able to warp outta there alive. You're right though.. it was crazy crazy fun!! On to my next adventure.. Watch and Take pix of the Battle with the King of All MOBS (well at this time anyways) Kirin!!
 
2 things that really creep me out.

This was on wednesday right?

because i got a teleport holla that day and guess who was in that party.

My old friend synical. The first and kindest person (job is RNG) to help me with my RSE. We were talking for about 1/2 hour before they got the 6th member of the party. I still have the same shakrami key she gave me.

I think they was going to hunt bethemoth but i have no idea.

And in 1 of the pics synical is talking about the king being a big boy.

Thats creepy AND cool.
 
Java.. this was on Tuesday night coz last night I was doing 6-1 and 6-2. Poor Synical.... he got Nailed hard by Meteor, which brought him into the red. He was resting on the side but got hit again with Meteor. That of course killed him and he deleveled (I believe he was 50xp over 63 so even a Raise II or III couldnt get the level back). He did get his Level back yesterday though so he is good to go. I have to agree.. Synical is one of the best people I've ever met in FFXI. He is very unselfish and always willing to lend out a helping hand. He surprises me, coz for a RNG his level, he outdamages other RNG's (same or +1 level ) CONSISTANTLY. I always XP pt with him and always glad he is part of my team. :D :D :D

I got a raise 3 from my linkshell members :) so i didnt lose much. Almost got ate up becasue i got nominated to stick around and watch for when it died :shock:

I think i am 6 voke spams into carpal tunnel myself :lol:
 
Damn, that must have been a sight to see. This just makes me want to lvel even more so I can participate in stuff like this. Thanks for the sneak peek.

Malakai :shock: :shock: There are a bunch of NM's you can hunt at your level. Even at my level, I still visit my friends Hoo Mjuu and the Valkurm Emperor. HNM's like Bune, Guiver, Behemoth... I would wait til 70-70+ (from a tanking point of view of course) :wink: .

I know about Lizzy, Valkurm Emperor, and Hu Mjuu, but I dont have my THF leveled at all, and I am worried I will miss the mob due to some THF with Haste running around and getting to it before me. I dunno, that and I am an impatient person...LOL.
