Its seems like a lot of people are leaving is there like a reason... like mine was because i was bored of the game and it ate my m life and i just didnt like it anymore but what are your guys reasons... i am jsut curious

For me, I switched to WoW because the game fits my schedule. If I have an hour, I can go lvl right off the bat and not have to wait for a PT. For some of the harder instances where it is designed for grouping is the only time to group. What I didn't know when I was playing FFXI, was how much fun PvP was. It's quite the accomplishment being able to fend of 2-3 people attacking you. Well that's my two cents.

its true that if u pike PvP games, FFXI isnt one of the first that come to mind. we may have ballista and all but its not the games mainstay element.

i too would like to know why so many are leaving. im wondering what type of game i will be returning to with all the vets leaving.

I changed to WoW... From one Time sucker to another... i personally like WoW because of the no Party wait... you lv up from quests and PvP when ever its awesome

WoW is fun and all but once you get to level 60 and have to do those stupid ass instances over and over again...it gets boring. Pvp use to be fun before they introduced battlegrounds. There was nothing more fun the getting ganked by some rogue while farming or xping, now I would be lucky to get ambushed once a week :(

BIG problem, MC runs just sucked the life right out of me, clearing trash for hours just to gear up to gimp the bosses just wasn't for me anymore. 5 man scholo was still awesome though, full set of Twill!, but yeah, 5 man scholo or Baron were hard to come by, most just want to 2-group it really fast and do it over again.

But I still get ganked all the time...

FFXI needs a dueling feature.. 1v1 duels.. outside of town of course so as not to cause EVEN MORE LAG IN JEUNO! (damn it!)

but like..

click a player..
hit "challange to duel"
a box pops up on their screen saying "so and so wishes to challange you to a duel, do you accept?"
they hit "yes"
you two beat the living snot out of each other..

this is how they did it on Dragon Raja...

The problem with duels is that certain people, say monk, would get pissed at a whm or any mage job and want to duel them. Whm accpets, and gets slaughtered.

"I killed joo I killed joo take that for not giving me teh Warp hahahha!!!!11"

WoW has really good class balance when it comes to PvP.
I still would like to see players of different nations attack those of other nations as an event or something in the week before the servers go down.

sigh going have to go to everquest agian

there system was they had battle arena in side the city they had entire zone that was set out for battling. they also had that pvp zone and player killers <only flaw that was you could only kill other playerkiller and only player killer can help other playerkillers> I was really surpise when most the idea that made everquest so good for so long was pretty much left out of the newer mmo. Even everquest 2 is not as good as the original <note I only played up to the shadow of lucan expansion> I like ffxi but they do need get a little bit more ... what the word im looking for..... barberic let NA se get a hold of the range for a while bet you will see a big differnce

im not a big fan of PvP but i like nibble's idea. thats a style of pVp that diablo needs so that damn PK's on hardcore have less opptions to kill people that wanna just enjoy the game.

i agree, SE should definitly introduce a new PVP just like the way the dual ststem works. But if it was as if in WoW the Horde can destory the alliance... what would that be here? the humes and galka stick together, the elvanns for them selves, and the tarutaru and the mithra on another team? and they can go kill whereever? this would make ballista empty, also, it would be akward for looking for a party.

I think that the reason people are all leaving so soon, is because they have been wanting to for a long time. Its kinda like a good xp party. several people have to go soon, but they don't want to be the guy who breaks the chain, and you will frequently find people staying longer than they wanted to/ should have. Of course it can't last for ever, so when the first guy leaves 2-3 people go with him. The same applies here.

People come, make friends and lvl to 75 do sky etc. They get bored but keep playing because their friends are. WoW or another MMORPG comes out and one person decides to try it out (and also leave FFXI), so his friend follows his lead, and so do his friends, and so do their friends and so on and so forth.

Of course it could also have something to do with changes during the summer...such as many people may have left highschool, and work doesn't allow them enough time or various other reasons.

Hell maybe they were just waiting for an interesting MMO and WoW looked like the one.

Also just a note: you look at all the people leaving as a bad thing, but when was the last time the SE tried to solve MPK problems? or give us BLU which we have demanded for god knows how long, or any of the other stuff they used to just ignore? Oh yeah there wasn't...

Now call me suspicious, but i highly doubt that the large number of people leaving all at once and SE suddenly giving a shit are complete coincidences.

Just food for thought.

It seems like a lot of people quit to play WoW. I only started FFXI a few months ago so it'll be a long while before I quit it, and I really like FFXI because I'm a huge FF fan and it's just loads of fun for me, even if I wait for party invites, I always find something else to do while waiting like crafting, questing, or fishing.

It's only those who do nothing but lvl up in the game who gets bored of it very quickly since they just sit around with a flag up.
