This is me. This is me ranting about people who leech! (and no, I don't mean people who stand around doing nothing in a party, thinking they can get away with it, though they're stupid too..but that's a different rant)

As I'm currently giving a certain LS a shot (*cough*), I've noticed within just one week, three different people come into the LS, and beg for help...
And beg for help.
And then they get help from someone
Afterwards...a thanks? No. Oh look, they took their pearl off.
Jump to a few hours, maybe a day later.
Same people...begging for help.
And begging. And eventually someone helps...
And...oh look, they took the pearl off!
And I've watched this go on..and on...

Now, I'm not sure if this'd make me some heartless monster or something, but if a LS is dedicated to helping eachother and such, fair enough..but I had a sack and saw that sortof crap going on continually from the same person(s), I'd flat-out kick the turd. Yes, the whole dedicated-to-helping-eachother thing is nice, but him not even attempting to lend a helping hand to anyone else, while begging for help with crap nonstop, with no less than a thank-you, is sorta getting annoying when I see it.

Oh, and his excuse - "I'm a WHM, I can't help". Really, the kid should be a comedian..

So here, I'll say it nicely - I enjoy helping people, I try to do so when I can. But if you're needing help with Teleport-Mea just because you're gonna sell it, and expect me to troll around til I find the ??? and guide you safely to it so you can pawn the scroll for 200k, without a small cut or, more importantly, a simple thank-you, you gotta be damn kidding. =\

Hear hear!

Sorry, I have a sore neck and can't be bothered thinking of a more intelligeble response(sore head too).

Heh, I sure know how that is. Our LS does Garrison every Friday and that tends to, shall we say, increase Linkshell activity for a few hours.

Yup thats a correct analysis. It bugs the hell outa me that people think they can just "hop onto their LS" only when they need something (or in our case, lots of gilz  )

Thats why I a lot of people only like helping members that have been in the linkshell for a certain time period. My current ls has a rule that no member can get optical hat unless they have been in the shell for a month. In the past new members would get the hat and leave, taking advantage of people's help. I know this kind of sucks for members who joined HNM or high level shells because they need the help and plan on sticking around, but to be fair not everyone does. I think this is a good way ensure that a most of those in the ls that get help will stick around and maybe offer some help in return.

Personally I help alot of people and get very little reward from it, but in my experience very few are like this. A great majority expect people's help but never think of returning the favor and I think this is second nature. Its not to say they have bad intentions, quite the opposite. The thought just never pops in their head.

I try to constantly get you to do stuff with me at your own gain and you always gives excuses. Why do you hate me Lavi?! YOU SUCK! ;-;
Bizarro-world Leechers suck too. ;-;

Really though, it is sortof a pain to help people and get kicked in the shin in return. But it pales in comparison to those people that turn down your offer for help and then get mad when they want help later and you're busy, notnamingcertainrdm

I broke my LS for this very reason. people wandering in and out getting help.

even people that stayed wouldn't take the initiative to help out others.

it seemed that it was me organizing everyones AF's while they reaped the benifits.

Some people did do most of the work, where i would just come in, hit something and go home, but i've noticed most people don't know how to form thier own help party, and its pretty sad.

One day Badnfluenz will be back, but for now i'm happy being in the back of the room in someone elses LS..

Taats why you should join a LS that only helps people who they are friends with or who have talked with before. In my LS I only let people I have talked to, not neccesarily done stuff with, in. This is to minimize LS leeches.
Also, you should make sure the highest lvl person in the LS is a lazy non helping lvl 75 blm that makes fun of you as you die but does not help. ; ; J/K Jdex! I love ya man! you lazy ass >.>

i tried to kick a few ppl, only to find out they already had pearlsacks i guess rei is trying to protect them

here here to that

i dont really have any complaints about my ls but i do know what ur talking about, i as of lately have needed lots of help with af and genkais and such. however i have helped many people and will continue to do so, i have seen many people not in my ls but outside out of it that have helped quite a bit , however when its time for me to find help on something theyre no where to be found. its ashame people have no idea what i call game courtesy is , if i help you at least try to return favor, again i reiterate this is not a ls issue for me more like a game issue. personally i love helping my ls makes me feel good to know i could help , i pity those that only help themselves , thats my 2 cents.[/img]

That's why I love my LS we're like family^^ ,right seawolf?
EO ROCKS!!!!!!! I'm new, please don't flame me :(

My old linkshell, Shacknews, had this difficulty for a long time. The problem was the original leader had quit, so no new pearlsacks could be made or old... shall we say less deserving... sackholders could not be demoted properly.

It was not until about 2-3months after that our leader-by-default finally exploded, formed a new LS and we all moved. The shell was MUCH better off and more lively without the constant nagging of morons.

And when people showed their true colors and only put on the pearl for their own benifit, after declining assistence on other people's things, they were kicked. Plain and simple. It wasn't a large shell, but after a couple mages had tried to pressure our thf leader with their jobs, he simply broke their pearls lol. "I'm a whm and I'll leave!" "Goodbye!! /breaklinshell." A LS leader doesnt have to be a nazi, but the weeds need to be trimmed occasionally :P

Leeches are basically what will ruin a LS. I don't see how they can't. They take take take and only give back..umm...never?

Our LS is mainly based on relationships between each other and the fact we all get along. When we need help, others are always willing to help. When they need help, I'll run out even if it means certain doom (which as a PB, it most certainly does). It's all about give and take right? Just kick the takers out.

"Oh, I haven't been on the LS for 2-3 months or longer, but yah, I'll do that <insert mission, AF, quest, CoP, get glz event> here and then...never talk to you until another useful event comes up." I'm opposed to the people who just pop onto a LS just for the sole reason of getting something for THEM done. I like LS's that HELP EACH OTHER which is very different than a LS full of leeches.

Yes Palum that is why I stayed so long so you and Sabs can help me do my AF, or something.

But I agree, I had this same problem with an LS I help start. Some people would only have their own agenda, and others didnt give a shit until it concerned them, or their friends, then they cared.

In the end, I ended up leaving, and Senor ~Palum & Miss. Death Machine took me in! :D

I admit being guilty of indifference with this one. :( Live and learn. It's why I travel chatter free these days.

You know we were willing to camp for that earring.....even though Sabs and I would basically be like a decoy the mobs could eat while the rest of you get the earring..lol. But that's because you've been so helpful in the first place! And you belong in the Bears Falsey!

I know what you're sayin' guys, but in my case, when I try to come to Garrison to be with y'all, it's cuz I know there will be a ton of you there I can visit with at once. I don't think you're putting me in the same category as some of the others who shall remain nameless, but I did want to clarify. I mainly try, although I haven't had a helluva lotta luck for quite a while now, cuz I miss y'all  .
