Unlocks in less than 4 hours. Anyone want to stomp through the levels when it launches?

Any full reviews around to read?:P I wanna see exactly what the new modes offer rather than the vague rumors and such I've heard from friends/forums.

its left4dead, so its awesome

Ya but I've been kinda pissy about it cause of Valve's initial promises with Left 4 Dead 1. They claimed the AI would have more control originally (i.e. Gas Station event was going to be decided on big boom based on how well the players were doing, not they shoot gas station and it blows up) and now they have those events in L4D2 (see bridge videos/interviews) and it seems like L4D1 was beta we paid for lol. Or, at the very least, L4D2 shouldn't be priced as a full game cause, to me, it's nothing more than an expansion.

But I see "new campaign, a few new units, and a few new tweaks, but over all same gameplay" as always being an expansion. Just as Westwood and Blizzard games always had it with their main focus games and the expansions of em. But I guess since those were RTSes it's a bit different. I dunno, I'm probably going to get it though cause I <3 Zombies and Valve really does make good games even if they disappoint me in some way. The demo was indeed fun though. The new Special Infected make it even more fun and challenging and the new tweaks to the AI was good.

The game itself feels more Dynamic somehow, and the variety of infected now definatly adds to that. Especially since it won't be "2 hunters plus 2 other slots" all the time in vs.

Survival is the same, although with new locations adding to the variety.

Scavenge from what I hear is running around gathering up stuff, like gascans, which I assume have a point value.

With Campaign, from what I could see of the demo, adding interactive crescendo events is genius. Now you can't just sit in a corner till its over, you actually need to run up the tower and turn the alarm off before it stops. Crash Course was similar with having to turn the generator back on in the finale.

Yes, its good, yes you should get it if you liked L4D1

I finally got to play the demo this morning, and I'll definitely be getting it. Hacking through zombies with a machete is so much fun. That race to the tower to stop the alarm was a great twist. I also liked throwing the container of Boomer bile to attract a horde.

(Wonder how long it takes 4chan to invoke Rule 34 on Ellis, mwa-ha-ha-ha...)

Getting this for Christmas since I'm broke at the moment. I'll be playing PC.

Bah, not up yet!

NERDRAGE!!!!!!!!!!

Pre-load to play it the moment it's available.
Pretty sure Gamestop's having a midnight release for Assassin's Creed 2. Maybe Left 2 Die is involved.
It's available right now. If you're playing on consoles.

I hear the game's not up even though it's supposed to be out now. Isn't that he same thing that happened with L4D1? :P

Yeah, an hour later and they still haven't dropped the unlock for Steam yet.

Loved L4D1 and this one has a lot of improvement.
I think it's worth every dollar of the $50 price, but if you don't want to pay full price for it, you can find some friends and buy a 4-pack together, came out to be 35 dollars a piece i think.

Loving Scavenge mode atm.

The same could be said for every guitar hero and rock band game.

They make a simple game that's meant to be played in a party release a sequel every year with a few tweaks, and profit like crazy over the idiots that buy a full priced expansion.

That's why I don't buy them? Dur. They're not worth getting anymore. But even then there's a huge difference. What Guitar Hero promised was delivered where as MUCH of what L4D1 was promised WAS NOT delivered (half the versus maps not out, no SDK, no AI controlled events like the gas station going BOOM or not depending how well or bad your team is doing, etc).

Anyways, Review:

Not like Guitar Hero promised much from the beginning.
"Play your favorite rock songs!"

Ya but you still did get what you promised. LFD1 promised a lot that didn't follow. Graphically with the dynamic lightning with flashlights (i.e. seeing your friend's and the shadows they made, removed yet they coulda done it), gameplay with the AI director controlling the environment (weather effects and some time and shit) and the AI director with certain events that would or wouldn't happen based on group's performance and difficulty, etc. So much they promised that didn't happen :(

It's why a lot of people are pissed about this whole thing. Though even more are pissed cause they "know" Valve won't deliver anything new for L4D1. Though, I don't blame them, after Crash Course I don't believe we'll see anything except bug fixes if they cause major issues.

However, I do think L4D2 is indeed a good game, but it's what L4D1 SHOULD have been. And it still feels like it should be expansion priced rather than full game priced. Glad my friend did the 4 copies thing and gave me one :3

This game is a lot more frustrating than the first one.

Yeah, me and a friend were saying that it seems like they actually downgraded the AI. They're even more stupid than they were in the first game lol. Levels seem a lot tougher/longer than the first game as well. Makes versus mode pretty difficult if you don't have a solid team, which usually isn't the case even if you have one random on the team, because they always end up being some fucking moron who decides to rush off in front of everyone and get themselves killed. >:/

Kind of think the time between hordes should be lengthened, that the spitter's recharge should be a little longer, or just slightly weaker overall, and the jockey's HP lowered a little too. Not by much though otherwise they'd be useless. And fix the god damn table/wall zombie clipping issue that makes them un-meleeable that was in the first game.

Awesome so far, Charger/Jockey/Spitter are great new additions to the infected. The AI is a bit disappointing, but I can't expect perfection. Some of the achievements are great fun, but the server(s) used still seem shoddy, it's like Crash Course all over again. No matter where the people I'm playing with are, I get 1 bar connection unless I'm the lobby leader. If I have 3 bars, the game is AWESOME. If not, it's barely playable, as you have to aim your infected wherever you think the survivors will be in about 3 seconds time, and that doesn't guarentee a hit.

PS: Chargering someone out of a 20 story building = win.
