So a million people's chars are going to be shouting "yaaaaaa"

"Hot skank" is by far the best shout from Link.

Lets see... races.... wood elves (Link), high elves (Zelda), humans (some of the townspeople look like regular humans to me), imps (Skullkid), the female race that only has 1 male born a century (Ganondorf), Gorons, Fish people (Zoras?), and Deku Scrubs. I guess they could get into enemy races too... which I can only think of undead and those guys with the bulldog faces.

Wiki is copyright infringement. Nintendo's currently going after the korean company making it.
Whaaaaaaat? Why would they do such a thing? They are two completely different games! See:

I don't ever remember riding a BEAR in a LOZ game....oh wait the oracle games..

But yeah, it looks like they ripped off the windwaker style, right down to the look of the eyes. Shame Nintendo is trying to stop it, i like the graphical style.

I didn't see any blond kids with a sword in his left hand, and how can you copyright a graphical styling? Gameplay on the other hand, oh well Nintendo is probably pissed that they wasted all that cool cell-shaded gameplay on sailing the sea from hell, and Wiki looks a hell of alot cooler.

Uh, easily? It's called Intellectual Property. How would anyone in the music business keep their composition safe if you couldn't copyright it? How could any artist make it today if they couldn't copyright their creations?

It doesn't need to be physically tangible to be copyrighted.

Theres a difference between making something similiar (Doom and Duke Nukem,) and just blatantly stealing ideas(Disney and several Anime.)

Maybe Blizzard and Nintendo should talk.

Please...if Nintendo owns that styling then they payed ALOT of money for it, which I doubt that they did. Windwaker wasn't the first for of entertainment to use characters that look like that.

There is nothing new in music. Everything has been done already, hell even the titles of songs are starting to be the same. There is only so much that you can do with 12 notes. Somewhere, someone has already done it, and Windwaker, while origional for a Zelda game, wasn't the first one to do that.

You do realize copyright can be transfered, as well as bands paying royalties to cover songs already made, right? It's not infringement if you get permission/transfer of those rights.

But anyway, I'll spell it out slowly for you.

Windwaker: Cel Shaded, uniquely stylized adventure game.
Wiki: Cel Shaded, similiarly stylized adventure game.

Theres no difference between the two, other than Windwaker coming out first.

Like my comparison between Doom and Duke Nukem. While both are First Person Shooters, both are drastically different when it comes to style and environment.

What about Fear and Doom 3 and Half-life 2? Are they really that different of a game? I don't think so and I've played all three.

Was Windwaker muiltiplayer? no.
Was Windwaker based on a world with actual land masses? no.
Was Windwaker the first to use that style of cartoon ever in the history of the world? no.
Are any of the sounds lifted directly from the ROMs of Windwaker? probably not.
Are any of the characters lifted directly from the ROMs of Windwaker? might look like it, but I doubt it.
Does a Korean based company have to listen to a company bitching about an American patent? no.
Can they sell it in the U.S. if Nintendo wins? no.
Do you even really care? I don't.

More specifically you seem to be under the impression that a "style" can be copyrighted, it simply cannot be. I am friends with many many people in the music business through my fathers involvement it some genre's scenes including a bar owner who had to have a legal fight with those mafia like shakedown artisits that run the three music copright companies. I am for copyrights and enforcing them but those guys are running an extorsion racket.

Artisit copyright pieces of art not the "style". They copyright the music sheet (ie notes and lyric combinations) and specific finsihed products but not styles and methods with the exception if that method is a technologic discovery which they copyright(but which is handled the same way as inventions).

When you see some artist suing someone for copyright infringement it is always the case that they are arguing that the similarity in notes(using the music example) is the result of directly copying the score that was copyrighted and then trying to modify it just enough so that it wouldn't be noticed/get them in trouble. Similarly with paintings the only time there is copyright infringement is if you try to pass off your work as the other artisits work(ie countefeit).

What Nintendo or blizzard would have to argue is that this product is trying to pass off as their games, that it uses some copyrighted technology(in games terms means stolen code), or that they reverse engineered their product and then changed it just enough to make it seem different.
Now I don't know what all is involved in the case but if nintendo is pressing charges then I suspect it is either copyright infringement of name(being to close to wii) or that they are claiming that some code was reverse engineered and hense stolen.

Either way makes little difference to me since I won't be buying that game. Was just making the point that styles cannot be copyrighted. If they could then you wouldn't see all the knockoffs in every market arround.

Wow... just wow...

I doubt it'll be that good. Nintendo hasn't really delved into MMORPG's yet, especially the LoZ team. A MMO really REALLY diverts the storyline too imo.

We'll have to see, but I'll wait for opinions before I buy.

So I'd put my money on that <.<

I love how they completely ripped off the WoW battle interface.

Not sure how it'll turn out, but I'd play as Tingle and make all the guys uncomfortable by hitting on them.

"Oh, you need a fairy?"
