Legolias Returns!

So after mailing a letter to the NA Vice President of Square Enix asking for my account back, guess what he said!?

Well, he said no of course, but that doesn't stop me! Actually I will be back on the server within the next couple of days, but not as legolias. I will be playing Dmb, maybe some of you know him. He's my best friend IRL and we both are busy with college.

He will be playing very infrequently; I will be playing somewhat frequently with intermissions for work, school, and FFXII, obviously. I bought a new copy of FFXI so in case I decide to open up a new account, I can. My new character's name will be legotwo so if you see that little sh*t noob named that running around, you know it's me.

It's really great to be back, I have missed all of you guys! And here I thought that being perma-banned would be just the thing I needed to actually quit this game... /sigh

Anyway, I'm happy I'll get to see some old friends again. Remember, Dmb = Legolias most of the time so if I send you a /tell, it's me! See you all in game!

Lol, well, considering my character was deleted, and I tossed every RA/EX item I had, and gave away all the monetary items, I'd say it's unlikely that I'll ever return =)

I have no problem with a mithra running around naked for my entertainment and neither should you.

Yeah one of the only non-retardemo DRK I run into and boom, a month or two later gone. Shouldn't there be a law about protecting endangered species?

Wasn't banned but I did have to start over after I moved out of my parents place because my brother and I are on the same account.
 
I guess that means I am "out of my right mind" then decidence. It's not the game bro, trust me. I will only start again on this server because of all the people I've known for soooooo long.

If someone gave me the opportunity to have the BEST account on some other server, I would say no in a heart-beat. I don't think it's so much that I want to PLAY the game as that I just want to talk with you guys again in game and be part of my old LS.

Anyways, thanks for the welcome back, I really appreciate it. I'll see you in game neo!

Jsoft said it best a long time ago, I don't want to bother digging up the thread but I think I can quote the main part of it.

"Accomplishments mean nothing without your friends and the people around you"

I agree with you about not switching to another server for the best gear, it would mean nothing. But I still don't see how you could start over after losing it all. The best way to drive someone away from the game or make them quit is to belittle their accomplishments or ignore them completely, it's also a good way to have people quit your LS.

People don't want to be ignored, because most of the people that play this game already feel like their ignored in real life and that's why they play so much in the first place. Notice that when people start getting a social life, or manage to get a girlfriend by some miracle their time playing FFXI drops off dramatically.

yeah deci that's why I hadn't played in almost 6 months... I got engaged and when I finally had some time to sit down and play, my account was banned.

I'm just starting to settle into the college life and you're right, its so hard to come back after losing ALL my hard work... It's almost depressing just thinking about how much time I spent making relationships with people and making my character good.

But, the relationships and my reputation are still there, and I know that since i'm coming back I can count on those people that I've been close with for so many years and that i've helped and have helped me in the past.

That is the one cool thing to think about that makes me want to start again. And also, dmb (my best friend IRL) is 1500 miles away and he wants me to get my own account so we can play again. We used to play all the time lol. Anyways, good words deci but I think I just need to come back to continue to build on those relationships.
