Well SE won't do shit about it but we can. Of course our sacrifice is NM goods.
Start finding out about WHO you buy them from. Make sure they aren't gil sellers. Now we want to stop using the Auction House, just buying from /shouts in jeuno. We must boycott to stop gil sellers. After 2-3 weeks of making no money they WILL realize that they won't make anymore money and quit. Just 2-3 weeks i ask of: Boycott the Auction house. Do you think its
worth it to not buy things off it for 20 days to make NM drops cheaper.

No one will stop using the ah for 2-3 weeks bud. Its all good talking about it, but thinking about it, it isnt gonna work

Okay, so instead of putting up my crafted merchandise in the AH, I should spend my entire time logged in standing in Lower Jeuno shouting for someone to buy my crap? Yes, that's a brilliant idea. It will definitely target nothing but the gil sellers. Yup.

A valiant idea, however you may want to search QCDN for past super long discussions on this topic.
We have dissected this issue inside and out, and yet we can come to no resolve :(

in theory i prolly could......but if im the only one doing it, screw that!

amount of people that post on qcdn versus the amount of people logged in per day. hmm simply wont make a difference. svina is the only on on qcdn that would buy amemit skins regularly. wether we stop using the ah for 2 weeks, no one will notice

I trully wish it where that easy. It just isn't going to work. The only ones that can stop it is SE themselves, and we all know that is not going to happen. Untill then we should count ourselves as being fortunate for choosing a game that DOES have the best online economy, even with the gil sellers. Every other online game's econonmy gets screwed shortly after the servers go up.

SE has done a great job keeping things as fair as possible. Once we all start going to NPCs and bazaars for our goods we can officially call our economy screwed. Lets enjoy it while it lasts.

IMHO, gilsellers can be taken on. If a good force is kept farming archers 24/7... they will leave. Then start up a group to take back another area.

You can win against gilsellers. It's just no one has bothered with them.

to make a point, the gm's don't do fuck all. as some might have heard, in the game recently Gais, a chinese gilseller (it's not a racist thing, he said he was chinese) tried to get me to do a RAEL {money} {trade}... REAL {japanese} {money} {do you have it?}... and so on... i call a GM, this is a pure unsolicited attempt to sell gil to me, i mean, he has to do something right? nope, 10 minutes later Gais sent me a tell to the effect of {good bye} {no money} {person} ... blah blah blah BAD {player}.... then i call up the gm again this time because he's harassing me... the GM once again does nothing...

I personally feel that the gil buyers are more at fault for the high prices.

They can pay for items the WANT without time and effort put in to make money. And they are willing to pay such a High price because no effort was put in.

Every gil I make I decide if I Need something or just WANT it. I also wait untill prices drop on wanted items.

Gil sellers play a part.but If alot a of ppl weren't willing to pay that price. They would drop how much they sell items for.
