Okay, picture this... You come across a level 75 thief lfp constantly. The thing is, he is always in West Sarutabaruta farming Beehive Chips and Silk Thread. He isn't making much money, but he is making a little none the less. He moves between that and helping others with key and testimony drops. His gear is sub par...
Magnet Knife

Heavy Crossbow / Lightning bow
Emperor hairpin / War Beret
Spike necklace
Drone Earrings x2 / Coral Earring x2
Rogue's vest / Coeurl Jerkin / Aketon / Black Cotehardie
Rogue's armlets / War Gloves
Fluorite ring x2 / Tiger Ring / Jadeite Ring / Rogue's Ring / Marksman's Ring
Amemet mantle
Warwolf belt / Ryl.Kgt. Belt (Royal Knight Belt) / Life Belt
Rogue's culotte
Dragon leggings / (havn't had help with AF boots yet)

Mostly gear under the million gil mark. Nothing outstanding, nothing great, but just decent. He doesn't have any recognizable linkshells. He is very quiet and well kept to himself. He doesn't really know much about endgame and seems to want to know more. He wants to make gil, but doesn't want to farm. He wants to make gil with others. He knows of BCNMs, but has no one who wants to go with him except for a few others.

But still, he seems to be stuck in the same loop as to looking for parties, and raping low level mobs of thier existence. What advice would you give this level 75 thief to help him get his feet wet with endgame experience?
 
Apply for a endgame LS.

Every LS I've visited have no need for THFs. I'll look on the link given.

I just didn't know if there was some natural step from level 75.

"end game" starts at lv 65 if u want to a 12 party of 65s can take some baby HNMs etc what is end game so it does not start at 75 lol

except no one considers baby HNMs "endgame" anymore

Yeah but it'd be kinder to lvl another job to get into endgame then camp that abomination.

Join a Dynamis shell to make some connections and get a little skill for working in large groups and following orders quickly. I dunno how great any of the starter city AF2 is for THF (not so great if I recall), but it gets you on your way, and can deffinately lead to connections to join limbus shells and such where gear get better.

Basically it sounds like OP wasn't doing as much networking as he could've been, (which is fine) and now is where those connections would be paying off more. Dynamis shells usually aren't super picky, so its a good place to meet people and get your name out while practicing a little for some endgame stuff.

You're right for the most part.

Bastok's Body Piece only gives +crit hit rate (SH or DH is much better)

Windy's Head gear is lol for the most part. Enhances mug, but it does give +5 dex. SO you can toss that Emp Pin (but Voyager sallet is better =\)

However. Jueno's piece is worth its weight in gold. atleast i believe so

thats a free Triple Attack merit right there. I use it for TP gain myself, and i see good T-Attack rate.

as for the rest of the gear. The AF legs from Beaucidine is just.... yea. Good for style. But enhances Gilfinder? wtf? (although it does have +5 steal, its only saving grace)

and of course the invaluable THF af2 hands with the Th+1... im next in line for those! yay!
