I was wondering if anyone was expecting new spells with the forth-coming version updates?
Or any requested spells?

Personally: Teir 5 Spells, Tier 3 -Aga spells, Warp-aga (Come on!), and Tier 2 Elemental DoTs would make me a happy Taru.
I don't think I need to mention the fabled Meaty-Or Spell. >.>; /pray

Any other ideas?

They will have to add new spells and abilities. But I am hoping for the M to the OR....

Fuck yeah, finally a new topic on the BLM forums
Fuck no, a topic I really don't care for lol

I'm not that interested in the upcoming meteor compared to the future mechanics of the job. How the level cap is going to be introduced. Seeing how they're applying it to CoP zones. I guess that'll mean the rest of Vana'diel will also be going that route? Also sub jobs, make or break the job or the entire game? Job abilities, cause we only have 1...

Personally for me the Lv99 cap is ruining my come back. I have planned 30+ solos just on BLM and with the 99 cap all that shit's going to be pointless. As well as look stupid on my part cause I'll have to purposely gimp myself @ 75 while everyone else is 75+. Personally I wish SE is implementing some sort of feature to switch between Lv75/99 mode like merits. Unless Vana'diel stays capped and upcoming new content is uncapped. /pray

They've already stated Meteor will be introduced.

What I'm far more interested about, though, is how they will handle the tier2 AM merits if they add new spells. Will they increase their potential damage, or let them stay the same? Add further merits to enhance them? Change them completely? I mean, I highly doubt Meteor will be the only new spell for them.

For this reason, I feel it somewhat unlikely that BLM will get a wide variety of offensive spells, and that they rather will get more defensive spells and buffs. Drain II, Aspir II, for example. Also, probably an Enmity- buff or spell, or a spell to transfer part of your enmity to someone else. Also likely is a Drain-like spell that converts part of the damage dealt to restore your MP (for those fights where Aspir isn't possible), a self-buff that increases your m. att bonus, and more physical-based spells (like Meteor) for fights where magic damage is not possible.

Most end-game fights prefer melees over BLM's, and SE have stated they wish to rework the way classes work. One area BLM lack in is longevity. Most good melees can deal more damage than BLM's can in most fights, and BLM's are rather useless in exp parties. Hence, I believe SE will focus more on their MP management, survivability and party utility, rather than give them new spells, yet again giving them a backseat in most events and parties.

I'm not really a BLM player but Meteor sounds cool for you guys and from Carbuncle's meteorite blood pact I could see how it would work in FFXI.(perhaps being very similar)
