Sometimes you can't really help it. Like myself, if I'm just sitting looking for party, I'll oft times just kinda doze off. Nothing to be done about it really. Just ask the person, if they dont respond, move on.
 
I poop while afk. I just turn up my speakers so I can hear the ting from my /tell.

But yeah, sometimes it can't be helped. You might get up for literally 3 minutes to use the restroom and come back to:

/tell {party} {Do you need it?} x3
/tell Asshole!!! quit LFP if your gonna AFK!!!!!

If people don't respond, move on.
 
No but seriously, this is a growing trend that rarely happened like 2 years ago. Half the people who seek nowadays are afk. Its annoying as fuck.
 
If you do go afk, at least put a fucking note in your comment saying "BRB IN 5 MINS K LOL" jesus christ it's so fucking annoying when the only mage or tank lfp doesn't respond.

I agree that it's very frustrating for a party leader to deal with it, but sometimes it just happens. Not being argumentive, but if my girlfriend yells at me to come upstairs, I'm not putting a note in my /seacom.
 
If you're only going to be 5 minutes or less, the person sending you the tell can have a bit of patience. If you're going to be more than that, then yes, you should put up a seacom announcing when you'll be back. (Unless of course you afk'd for some emergency.)

I do enjoy the times when I get invited when *not* seeking and complained at for being afk. :P

I'll often put my seek flag on first thing when I log in, then go make some food, use wc, find my DS, and come back. then switch gear over to the job I'm seeking on.

I've also fallen asleep while seeking once or twice. Ie. literally fallen asleep in my computer chair (hey it's comfy) and not remembered rolling over to my bed.

If you don't like it, cat's too bad. If someone's seeking it doesn't give them an obligation to party with you when you send them a tell.
 
I should have stated that if I do miss a /tell while LFP I do send an apology /tell to the sender.

I have to say people now don't have patience, i put my seacom saying in a very detail way (ex: away @1:30pm, and back @1:35pm) and it happen to get exp pt when i was away, come back exactly 1:35pm or even earlier time, and i reply, ok, the leader said sorry pt full or we got something else already. Even if you were 1 minute late after their /tell.
