In my 4 years of playing FFXI, I have to say it's aught me quite a few things. I'm sure you all agree? It's amazing how when a game is given the freedom that ffxi has, how very much lifelike it becomes.

For example. A big lesson ffxi has taught me. You need money, to make money.

The more money you have, the easier it is to make even more. If you;re dirt poor, it's very hard to jump start your $$$. It's very hard to synth for money when you don;t have the cash to buy the mats.

Very much lifelike, no?

Or all those times when you;re doing a BCNM, fighting some big tough monster, or your party is on the verge of wiping, but instead of giving up and disengaging, you all sit and tough it out, then miraculously break through and win?

Lesson #2. Never give up.

And in partying, I'm sure we've all had our fair share of wipes, no? But doesn't it feel good when you voke the mob, or 2 hour, take all the hate, while everyone runs away? Sure you lose a couple hundred exp or so, but the feeling when everyone thanks you is pretty awesome, no?

Taking one for the team... Lesson #3

I'm sure there's lots of other little things we've all been taught through our arduous adventures in Vana'diel, no?

I think we should all take a moment to stop, and thank SE for spending 8 years and counting to keep such an awesome game up and running for us all.

it hasn't been 8 years >.O more like 5, or 6 at the most

Not to sound like a dick, but these should be things you knew before playing the game lol If it took FFXI to teach you these, than you need to rethink some things.

God Lanien why do you have to be such a dick!

/sarcasm

I sure learned lots about arguing ;)

Some things are learned in RL but can be enhanced through another perspective in a different environment, where certain boundaries are erased. You also can consider that some people that play the game aren't exactly the 'ideal' social person or well rounded.

I've learned a few things myself or were enhanced, learning the value of a dollar(gil?) before I was able to get a job was one, it's important to make 'buisiness' partners as soon as you can because once you get past a certain stage you'll rely on people heavily as they do the same, etc.

It's never a perfect parallel to rl but some things can be learned or enhanced.

Well, I know what he means. I'd say it applies much more if you started playing in your teens though. It can definately teach a lot about money management and people skills to a teen, or the uh "slower" people in society.

I learn that shit in school.

The only skills my school taught me were how to spell and how to make paper aeroplanes out of toilet paper.

yeah, for people slow to make friends(moi), it was good for that, people with a 'void' in their life usually fill it in with this.

Of course it can either result in bad or good outcomes lol...

I am honestly impressed, you'd think toilet paper is too flimsy for that.

Use of a simple, natural and in-exhaustable bonding agent prevents it coming apart.

Playing this game at the very least makes you a more patient individual.

It is not the case all the time like people who jack "close friend"'s items and account
