Just wondering if any Smns have given this a try solo? I have some good experience when it comes to soloing hard stuff but this fucker moves around a lot. Anyone got any good tips for Smn solo on this ENM?

Avatar of choice:
Fenrir

Subjob:
Ninja

Meds/food:
A few Yags, Antidotes, a few hi-potions and ethers are advisable but not necesarry and MP food.

Strategy:
No need to Reraise, if you die it's the end of it and you do not lose exp anyway so you can HP carefree.
Buff up, rest MP back, find Race Runner and summon Fenrir.
Sic Fenrir on Race runner and Eclipse bite.
Hate however will not be on Fenrir but mostly on you!

Keep your distance from race runner, he will limit his moves mostly to Toxic spit and casting spells.
Run away when it casts Aeroga III, all other spells will be absorbed by shadows.

Give the Eclipse bite command whenever the timer is ready and RR is standing in one spot.
Use Elemental Siphon whenever your MP gets low.
This is relatively safe to do because Race runner usually stays at a distance.
You can also choose to Siphon when RR is running around.

Otherwise, the fight depends on luck mostly but is not that hard to solo.

guessing fenrir for the slightly lower cost? as smn fights tend to take long wouldn't it be best to use a stronger avatar and spam meds or is his evasion great?

Fenrir also has an evasion and accuracy build that not just helps you, but also him. Eclipse bite can do alot of damage

The slightly lower cost is 2MP/tick less then all the other avatars.

Also the damage return from Eclipse bite compared to both MP usage from the blood pact itself added to perpetuation makes it more viable to use Fenrir.
Also 15 minutes is enough to kill the Eft with Fenrir.

And as I have said in my strategy which is commonly used by several summoners that solo this ENM regularly the hate is on the player, not the avatar.

I failed utterly when i tried it. You end up burning through quite a few stacks of antidotes.

One of the reasons I rather not solo it because most of the drops from that BCNM do not make up for the cost.

If I'm not mistaken, Eclipse Bite is like 100mp~ less then PC, making it almost half the cost. I think it's damage caps lower, but it seems to still do well on average, especially with the ACC howl up. But yeah generally for solo, I've seen most use either Carby for kiting, or Fenrir for long battles that still need good spike dmg.

eclipse bite is 109 mp and predator claws is 168 like the other 70bps

Predator Claws averages around 1000 damage in Race runner which costs 164 MP
Eclipes bite averages 750 which costs 109 MP

1000/164 = ~6.1 damage per MP
750/109 = ~6.9 damage per MP

Aside from that taking in effect perpetuation cost of both avatars that Fenrir's cost is 2 MP less then Garuda's unless you have Karura Hachigane which should bring Garuda's perpetuation cost to equal hight as Fenrir's. (Depending Elemental staff in this case mostly as the rest of the perpetuation gear should be equal.)
However Fenrir's dps is also a little bit higher then Garuda's and we are looking at an endurance fight so MP to damage ratio and MP managment does count heavily.

D= Just need a THF. Its about 50% drop rate with TH2+knife if your not getting it with a THF its just bad luck.

went through about 3 pops(mine) and at least 2 others

not even the sword dropped out of pity...

no i didn't have a thf either=/

Just go on a windsday with Relic Body and Hachigane and you shouldn't have any problems.

AF1+1 boots and Nashira Gages and Garuda will be free!

Hmmm... No.

Only if you have the luck to have a Summoner's horn and wind weather at the time you do the bcnm.
Otherwise it's still 1mp/tick. (if you own that gear)

give me your relic body first hmk...

the af+1 boots and gages too but i need sea first!

I sure do have that gear! How about throw a conjurers ring into the mix? Sounds like its not a stretch to have a free Garuda in that BC with the right gear, especially with the prevalence of wind weather in Attowha Chasm.
