Limit Break Help FFVII

Okay, I'm on my 5th run on FF VII with a span of being off it for a year... m'kay. On the second disk, climbing the mountain, and freezing my ass off after just snowboarding.

Okay, but anyways. On Cloud, I already had Cross-slash and Braver (duh). It recently said I attainted Meteorain. So I'm like, fuck yeah! So, I get into a fight, and it ain't there...

Now, I forget, since I recieved it, it has to mean I met the kill counter quota. Do I have to be a certain level or something?
 
I think you have to set the Level 2 limit breaks from menu before you can use it, well in Meteorain's case it's Level 3 limit, so you do that and won't be able to use the Level 1 and 2 ones, least I think? It's been to long since I've played.

Exactly. You gotta go into your Limit menu and set it from level 2 to level 3 to be able to use the level 3 limit breaks. And, as was previously stated, you cant use any other limit breaks but the ones in the level bracket you set it to.

Yea. Thanks guys. I forgot I have to change the level... lol And Meteorain was a mistake. Meant the first level 2 limit break.

your at the glacier and clouds only on lvl 2 limit breaks O_o I had finishing touch by then <_<
 
I never ever worked out how you "level up" your limit breaks, anyone care to enlighten me?

the more you use em is pretty much how it goes. Use it as soon as you get it rather than save for a boss and you'll be leveling it up faster and faster.

Ah that explains why at the end of every game i played Barett and Tifa always had level 1 limit breaks still. Crappy characters

Ok to learn the second limit break in a level you have to use the first one a certain number of times.

To learn the first one in the next level, you have to defeat a certain number of enemies with cloud.

I also believe the kills carry over...so I think if you killed 195 enemies before you learn Climhazzard, you will learn Meteorain right away when you learn Climhazzard
 
Cloud
Use Braver 8 times to learn Cross-Slash
Kill 115 enemies to learn Blade Beam
Use Blade Beam 7 times to learn Climhazzard
kill 195 enemies to learn Meteorain
Use Meteorain 6 times to learn Finishing Touch

Barret
Use Big Shot 9 times to learn Mind Blow
80 kills to learn Grenade Bomb
Use Grenade Bomb 8 times to learn Hammerblow
70 kills to learn Limit Satellite Beam
Use Satellite Beam 7 times to learn Limit Ungermax

Tifa, Nanaki, Yuffie, Vincent, Cid, and Aeris all learn Limit breaks in the same way with each one having to kill a different number of enemies. With Tifa, if you get "Miss" on the slots, that doesn't count as using it. If you can get Aeris lvl 4 limit break on the original US version, you are a better player than I.

As for Cait Sith... Who gives a shit.
 
Cait Sith only has 1 limit break per tier, just like Vincent. Easy to max them both out.

But yeah, who cares about Cait Sith when Vincent and Barret have the easy 9999 damage weapons. Well, easy is a relative term when applied to Vincent and Death Penalty.

I never have any problem getting Yuffie, Cid/Vincent and Cloud doing 9999 damage per hit
 
I always take Cid Barret and Cloud myself

Cid and cloud because they have the only triple growth rate weapons. Barret becaose of Catastrphe. Barret sucks vs Emrald weapon though. Air Tam storm does Max damage everytime if he's set up to do 9999 per hit with missing score.
 
I liked using Cid Vincent and Cloud for my party set up. Or Tifa, Cloud, and Vincent. Fun attacks :P

I liked Cait Sith.. he was fun :D especially his limit break :P
 
His limit break is what made him useless. Well... me naming him "Useless" made him quite literally Useless, but I never put him in my party voluntarily after I figured out how much ass he sucked.

Wepons and limit breaks are really the only thing that differed between characters. His weapons sucked and he doesn't have any multi hit limit breaks.
 
his limit break was amusing cause of the randomness :P it was fun when I summoned KOTR before I could even come close to getting it XD haha
 
I use characters because I like them in all rpgs I play, doesn't matter if they suck and don't have the best limits/trances/w/e, and I just liked Cait Sith the most, so he got a spot in my party, he was my enemy skill materia character so he wasn't useless to me either, and I'm a sucker for blue magic(obviously). Which also explains why Quina is my fav FFIX character and was always in my party lol, same with Strago and FFVI, Quistis and FFVIII, and Kimahri and FFX lol ><
