I have heard most of Linkin Park's new songs. They merged with a rapper on their new album, and remixed their old songs.
What the hell!
Now all their songs sound like crap!
No offense to anyone that likes rap, but the rapper IS THE WORST RAP ARTIST EVER!
I don't what gets me more, the constant sentence repeated over and over, thinking people will think you are rhyming, or the fact that it is just totally mutalated into this RAP CRAP!

GGRRRR!

What are your thoughts on their new songs?

I've thought they've always sucked...

I've never been a huge fan of them. Crawling was ok, but I never really got why people flipped like pancakes for them.

chugga

Theyre cool... they follow the "Chugga Chugga Cry" technique.....

listen to all their songs.......
hmmm let me make an example.....

a snippit from the chorus of Nobody's Listening....starring the guy with the black hair (BH) and the guy with the blonde hair (LH):

(LH)I tried to give you warning but everyone ignores me
(BH)I told I everything loud and clear
(LH)But nobody’s listening
(LH)Call to you so clearly
(LH)But you don’t want to hear me
(BH)I told you everything loud and clear
(LH)But nobody’s listening

from the way i hear it......
(LH) Cry cry cry cry cry WAHH WAHH cry cry cry cry cry cry WAHH WAHH
(BH) Chugga chugga chugga chugga chug
(LH) Cry cryyyy cry cry WAHH WAHH
(LH) Cry cry cry cry WAHH WAHH
(LH) Cry cry cry WAHH WAHH cry WAHH
(BH) Chugga chugga chugga chugga chug
(LH) Cry cryyyy cry cry WAHH WAHH

and anything thats not chorus is wholely CHUGGA CHUGGA.....

hehe i made fun of them but i really do like their music :P
Nobody's Listening has a good rythm.

No, chugga chugga is too complex for a linkin park song. They follow the "Duuuuuuuuuhhhhhhhh.......duuuuuuuuuuhhhhhhhhh......duuuuuuuuuuuhhhhhhh" template. Every song of theirs that I can remember any significant portion of, it was all whole notes on the guitar and bass, with a drum bass and synth strings or some odd sound. Total cheese, totally empty.

Bah! I can't get in to all these new bands.

Give me Greenday, AFI, Weezer, Offspring, NIN, 311, hell, anything from the early/mid 90's back when MTV played music videos and actually had funny programming and I'm very pleased.

Jay-Z is just old. I really don't think he's one the "best rapper alive" as he claims to be. I find a lot of his music stale, uninteresting and very materialistic. Which can of course be said about 90% of mainstream hiphop. Now, go to the underground... check out some Cannibal Ox, Aesop Rock, Mr. Lif, El P, etc. and there is some TRUE artistry... some of the best hiphop I've ever heard. Not about bling-bling or bangin' bitches, blunts and 40's... but about stuff that you know, people can actually relate to. Of course, if you enjoy your bitches, blunts and 40's... then disregard everything I said. :)

And Linkin Park with Jay-Z is like Van Halen with Eddie Vedder. An attempt to make something already detestable better gone horribly wrong, making it bigger, fatter and the most stupidest it can possibly be. (See, even thinking about them's affecting my mind.)

LinkParks new cd, isnt really a "new" cd.. I mean.. if there arent any new songs its not really all that new.. Plus, its not like this is the first time they have remixed thier songs, remember Reanimation? They remixed all of the songs on thier first cd in that one, and quite a few of the remixes were rap thuggish rap heavy.. and those ones were garbage. They did have one new original song on that cd that was quite good called My December. Check it out if you havent already.

LP likes to remix thier stuff. Just wait for their next real album, im sure it will be good, like their first and third ones were.

WOOT! And she finally scores the Yomi Loves! Booya!

*dies*

I like Linkin Park, i always have. But i just saw the VIDEO for the atrocity that was the song LP did with JZ (look! i made a fooneh!). I wanted to stomp my own face into a jar after watching that. I agree though, LP is rather whiny, as are a lot of the new rock bands nowadays. What ever happened to straight up half assed agression in rock?

LINKING PARK i s ok, its a good band, not bad either, nevertheless, the cd with the rap songs :bad idea: i mean every song, rap rap rap, if i have to chose, i' would choose how they use to be, without the rap.

but if you ask me

A PERFECT CIRCLE

IS THE BEST BAND EVER!!

afther raidohead

If mainstream music stopped sucking I'd gladly cut up my indie-elitest card.

Until then . . . Linkin Park will continue to whine their way into sold out stadiums.

You know I never liked Linkin Park until I got dragged to one of their concerts. Well not really dragged, more like I was trying to get on this girl who really liked them so I went to the concert with her. Anyway, I have to admit i was surprised but they put on a pretty damn good show. I was quite surprised but they were pretty tight musicians, and had some tremendous concert energy. So even while not a fan I do have to give them some credit.

I think its actually pretty cool that more artists are collaborating with others of different genres.......(ie Nelly and Tim Magraw, Linkin Park and Jay Z) And i gotta give linkin park credit for doing that even tho im sure they know that fans will prolly bash them for it........it just gives them a totally different sound that original fans will not like so much.......

Regardless, I admit that im a fan, but i gotta say that im not too keen with their new remixed stuff........
