Well I'm not the type of a person to usually start flames, but this seriously pissed me off. Writing this while im waiting for a friend to raise me.

About 45mins ago linkmager asked me to pt in Valley of Sorrows. I was a replacement and like i usually do i asked how much longer the party was gonna go, so i don't pop band and food for one fight and disband. He said the party was going great, and he was just replacing a few people. Well i head out there, and i get to cape teriggan. I pop sneak and invis right before i hit the beach to the zone, and about half way to the tunnle. Surronded now by raptors, crabs, and pugs alike i start making a break for the zone. Of course i dont make it to the zone, die shortly before i reach the tunnle, and i delvl. I send him a tell of what happened and he said he will send a raise shortly. Then i get a tell from Evalice that the party sucked, was disbanding, and there was no raise for me. I send him another tell a bit angrier that he dragged me all the way out there to die and delvl and that i hope he has a raise. He tells me again that there will be one along in a few. I was sitting with a solid 35mins left on my death time when i send him another tell, and get the message, "Your tell was not received. The recipient is either offline or changing areas." Now im really pissed, but i give him the doubt, maybe he was changing areas. I send another and get the same message. So im sitting in cape teriggan with 23:45 left before i auto HP as im writing this.

Linkmager, if he is on these boards i don't know, or if anyone knows him, tell him this. When someone asks how much time is left in the party give them an honest answer. When someone asks you if you have a raise and you dont, tell them that. If you had just said, "Sorry, we can't raise you." I would be a lot less mad. But you had to log off and leave me hanging for 40mins before i finally got my friend to raise me.

Thanks alot for being more retarded then Aumar. He at least gave me a D2.

Running across the beach in the cape. There are raptors there, but was more the pug and crabs that got me.

You should send him a /tell the next time you see him and ask if there was any reason why the information you were given was incorrect.

I myself have been in a party before where a replacement was asked to come only to have the party disband the moment they arrived to camp. It happens unfortunately, often because of RL issues.

I can understand your frustration, but "most" people have valid excuses. Its possible that some of the other party members decided to disband after you had been asked to replace, because if you think about it... why would a player ask for a replacement just for the heck of it? I don't think many would, so likely he did intend for you to replace but something happened within the party and in the end, it was disbanded. I've seen it happen before.

On a side note Linkmager is one of my LS members and I don't know him very well because he doesn't talk but from what I do know about him i'm sure if you can find him online tomorrow or in the new few days you can talk to him and get everything explained, rather then coming to the flameboard to try and give him a bad name which he may "possibly" not deserve. If you're frustrated because of the events, no need to mention names but as this flame was titled after him I can only guess that was your intent.

Also, as friendly advice I recommend that you use your band and food a few battles into party. Ask how long everyone is staying when you get there, try a few battles to see if its worth using those items for instead of using them prior to even reaching camp... it'll save you from future experiences like this.

It doesn't seem like you can entirely blame him. Regardless of him being the PT leader or not, the possibility that you won't get a Raise is still there. It wasn't his fault you got aggro and died, and you can't be sure if it was his fault that the Raise didn't come. Since the party was obviously disbanding, the WHM (or whoever the Raise was) might have felt careless about even going to Raise someone who hasn't even been in the PT.

Point is, I can't see all the blame being put on Linkmager. He didn't cause your aggro, and he wasn't the Raise. What's to say he did really try to get the person to go Raise you, but since the PT was disbanding, that person decided to just not go? Linkmager might have entrusted the mage to Raise before logging out. This just seems pretty one-sided.

It's actually not that uncommon. Virtually 1/4 of the replacments I've seen post-70 were "I gtg, replacement on the way" or "Replacement's here, take care guys [without even telling us they hadto go beforehand at all]".

It really is a big pain in the butt..

Wow, I guess I probably don't see that as often because I pretty much either get invited to a party just starting up, or make one myself... and usually when one or two leave after partying for a few hours we all decide just to disband party as opposed to getting replacements. But I could believe the numbers you posted, sucks to be the one called out to be the replacement for those cases

Well in the inviters defense, I can only say it is impossible to predict what will happen in the next 30 mins. I always ask if the people will stay together if I get a rep. 30% they actually do, 50% something always happens and someone(even me) need to leave and 20% the party will decide it'll be best for everyone to just disband and say sorry to the replacment. There are some cases where I get d/c'd and unable to get back for a while, when having a rep on the way.

Every time i party with a jp they all stick togher to a set time and then all disband makes it more fun the replacement idea is a NA thing what works some times but not all ways

I know linkmager i pted with him on my pld never sucked in pts, We always pt for a good 6hr tops before pt ever droped or had to get replacements for ppl that where leaving the pt, i can't see linkmager leaving pt and diping out on you with out something in rl coming up...i can't beleave it but i guess ppl don't ack the same to others on game idk....send him a tell and ask him what happen.......if i was on can you could have asked me for a raise but i'm not on game not for another month or so need to get rl shit done before i think about coming back......i'm good friends with linkmager and i don't think he knows about Qcdn so tell him i said that is messed up what he did to you

You really have no proof he screwed you. You got invited, got aggro and died. He said he would get a raise and while your waiting you resend a tell and hes changng zones or offline. Well, did you take the time to think MAYBE he D/Ced and couldn't get back on? It's happened to me a few times. If he did D/C and asked a WHM in zone and when that WHM was asking him/her where you were and saw the same message, he'd just get pissed and grmble back to his/her party. Not saying this IS what happened, but don't just jump to conclusions and think he/she screwed you over, sucks what happened but don't be immature about it, just suck it up and reput your flag up.

After a night of sleeping on it, and reading what you guys wrote i probably could have handled this better. If he is a good player/person i don't want to ruin that rep. When i made the OP i wasn't so much flaming him, just the fact that he had me waiting for a good 20 mins before he said he had a raise and logged/DC. I was at my character a good 45 mins after looking for him on to ask what happened but never showed.
