Linkshell Request Problems

He did, it's happening with Encore members too. That one's been going on for awhile. Tried to escalate it some time ago, will look to see if there was ever further action.

Yesterday I did another high-level permissions strip and reset on TWSS, Encore, LolAssaults, and KentuckyFriedChoco. I'm guessing it hasn't changed much since Retar... er, Genkaku is still having problems seeing both Encore and TWSS as of this morning.

Since we're discussing this again, I am still able to see/post in Hope Reborn.

Yea, I knew Aud had talked to you in the past about it. I was more concerned with the new users as a run had to be postponed since everyone wasn't up to par due to inability to access. From the sounds of your posts it seemed like he had talked to you in the past but not recently. I'll see if the issue has been resolved after your permission resets. Thanks for looking into it.

Aye, we are aware. QCDN is painfully awaiting the release of vB 3.7

Hopefully once that shenanigans is up and running, we may scrap the current permission's set entirely, and implement a new scheme with new supports.

SO, you can turn everyones permissions to allow the switching off of reputation but you can't give permissions to SEE the linkshell forums? Especially if some of us were once able to see them before but not now.

I am ignorant of the finer details as I do not have access to that admin panel. All I have to go on is the discourse between Reeve and CmdrFly regarding this on the Mod board.

The answer would seem to indicate the current system is an innadequate means to implement the Linkshell Forums.

Uh yeah, it's one button.

but you can't give permissions to SEE the linkshell forums?
Uh no, it's 47 buttons.

Just because you use the same word in two different scenarios doesn't mean those scenarios are exactly the same. The current state of the usergroups is officially: "fucked". Reeve acknowledges this as well, and his knowledge of vBulletin makes mine look like a millimetre of fishing line.

It may simply be that we were never setting them up properly to begin with. I'm a hands-on learner; I tackled the first LS forum request I could with absolutely no knowledge how to handle it. I observed other forums and usergroups, their settings, their permissions. I duplicated as much as I could. I've been doing most of the forum requests ever since.

If it was my fault, I won't hide the blame - but I assure you ("you" being all affected users) that I've gone to the greatest lengths I can to try and resolve the problem. Draciot (affected by the issue) even helped me pinpoint specific usergroups that were causing the problems. I corrected the permissions for those groups, and the problem didn't go away. That is black-and-white evidence to me.

It exists at some deeper level I don't understand. Thankfully, vBulletin 3.7 is on the horizon and will hopefully resolve the problems with their introduction of a new private forum system.

Out of curosity.... With the combination of boredom and google searches while waiting for file copies on a work server would this have any thing to do with part of the issue. Scroll all the way to the bottom to get to what im refering to.

P.S. Im tired of manually typing in the url to the private forum I joined too so im posting this :D

Unfortunately that option is already enabled. Thanks for the link though, it looked promising.

Pretty much everyone on QCDN belongs to the same primary usergroup, so if that option was disabled then I'm guessing nobody would have any access to private forums. Or everyone would have the same access to all private forums. Or rabbits would appear out of nowhere wearing sombrero's and poop out Mini Eggs, you never know. vBulletin can do many things.
