Ok, this pertains to Dynamis, BCNM, Boss Fights, etc.

Why can't SE just duplicate the zones and have multiple working zones so that multiple linkshells/parties can enter the above areas.

Think of dynamis. As was stated in another thread, shells either do or dont scheduel and it can get really screwed up.

If there were multiple, identical dynamis zones, then it wouldnt really be much of an issue at all. 4 shells attempt to go in, each shell goes to a seperate, but identical dynamis area.

Sure it may take up a little more server space, but in the long run, it makes everything easier on Linkshell owners.

==Area: Dynamis-Xarcabard A==
==Area: Dynamis-Xarcabard B==
==Area: Dynamis-Xarcabard C==

etc.

Because when 95% of those areas were added it wasn't a problem? The later BCNM's and such allow multiple groups to use at once, except for limbus and the CoP dynamis, which likely don't because of their size. The BCNM areas are small and usually only a few mobs in each, so they're easier to duplicate than a whole zone with hundreds of mobs.

'Cause each place (Dynamis, BCNMs, etc.) are still considered a zone. Different groups occupying the same zone would collide with one another ex: 2 different groups doing a BCNM would have someone camp the treasure box and one group would always get screwed.
It would be much easier if they made additional sets of a zone per server but as it stands, FFXI is a player based community, so its another way to get people to cooperate with one another.

Thats the whole idea. To create additional sets of the same zone.

And yea, its a way to get people to cooperate, but its an even better way to make people pissy.

Logicaly it should not be that hard to go back and add more instances of each of the "Special Zones" It is one of the big things that SE should do but wont for no other reason then laziness.

and if it was the same files you could hack server side and switch from your Ls zone to another and lot on there gear and go back to yours

SE has no idea how to read data and get an idea of what's gonna come to the future? Anyone with a brain and giving it some thought should have seen that Dynamis would become a scheduling problem with 4 hours almost a LS being in there and most scheduling things around a common time and the growing population of high level players and all that fun stuff you can tell.. Dynamis was easily seen to become a schedule problem and I could see limbus as having that kinda problem in the future (but not so much I think). Hehe.. *shrugs*

Considering that this has only recently become an actual issue, and dynamis has been out for over 2 years, it's hardly something that was obviously going to happen. Even now, the only reason this problem has occured is more and more linkshells are being formed rather than just join an established linkshell(sky anyone?) and they apparently think that there's only 2 times a week they can actually do dynamis; rather than pick a less crowded time. It's still not a big deal, either, as long as people are mature enough to actually work together since there's no need for competition between the linkshells.

actually.. I've had problems with schedulnig and seen problems of scheduling over a year ago. Though it wasn't as bad as it's getting now... there were problems a long time ago.

i think there should be linkshell hideouts, each linkshell leader when they create the linkshell should be given a list of places where the linkshell can do meetings, events, or just chill... but then when the list is all chosen then what o.O

1 word space. By duplicating zones you take more space on the server that can be used for other thing IE new areas. Plus this is not really that big of a problem hardly ever do you run into conflicts in bcnms or dynamis

SE probably doesnt want more people doing Dynamis.

this is end game content, multiple dynamis zones would open up the opportunity for more people doing Dynamis at the same time, more dynamis currency, and eventually more people with fully upgraded relic weapons; which are suppossed to be near impossible to get.

making it take longer to complete all of the game content is one way to keep you playing (and paying) longer.

which is one reason why FFXI is a dying game. Wow seems to have like.. 5 times the numbers that FFXI gets and, even if they leave for a bit they seemingly come back more than FFXI players. At least, so I've noticed in games. But I could be wrong D: I don't exactly have a set of data to prove it :P

Elemire FF XI is hardly dieing its funny every MMO the players always claim its dieing whatever. Look at the census FF XI has as many players if not more than last year.

I have nothing against WoW hell i beta tested it but i wasnt impressed Either. WoW has a huge playbase caus eit has a huge fanbase not to mention its instant easy.

As far as instanced areas iots a good idea and they did that with the new BCNMs and Assualt etc but like it was stated before these areas are small and usually invilved onlysmall groups of players. Dynamis involves alot of players amd monsters plus a large zone. Servers do not have Infinite memory and nothing in an MMO is just simple contary to many players beliefs its not as simple as you think.

I will say this about every MMO the trends are the same.

1 the players hate the company for not listening to them
2 the game is going down the tubes yet the players still pay and play hell look at Ultima Online the players have been claiming UO is going to die soon for years yet its almost 9 years old.

I agree Instanced areas for dynamis would be great but at the same time that memory and resources could go to more priority projects hell we might just have to learn to get along and work with each other i know thats hard for MMO players to do.

They did it with Assault zones, so it's not exactly an impossibility. And while Dynamis ARE large zones, I think they could handle making just one or two copies of each if they could handle, oh I dunno, Besieged?

Yeah, I'm sure no one would notice, let alone not jump right on that kindof circumstance.

I agree. Even if they were to dup a dynamis zone twice. so that you have 3 dynamis zones, that would still make it EXTREMELY better for all Linkshells, because if a group runs ahead of you into the zone, you still have another to go into. I can rarely think of an instance where 3 shells are bitchslapping each other all at the same time.

The idea of the instance is that it's created when needed, not just up at all times even if no one is there. So ya... at least that's what I was told >.> instance a copy of an area created at the time needed

Sometimes I don't think it's a sense of community SE is trying to foster, but a sense of competition. Fairly often, the demand vs supply ratio is incredibly skewed. SE takes some pleasure in creating something hundreds of people need and bottlenecking it to extend playtime. NPC quest lines, puppetmaster wamoura coccoons, blue mage AF, I can't think of many things that SE doesn't really choke the supply on, and I guess Dynamis access is no exception. We get forced to fight against each other for every little tidbit just as often as we get forced to team up. I think SE wants dynamis shells killing each other for play time. Multiple linkshells fighting each other for an endgame world with a deliberate lack of supply is the name of the game.
