On a serious note. That's actually really amazing and cute.

I've always said animals are smarter then they look =/ Lions themselves are cats, albeit a bit wilder. Like most other mamals, they, too, have feelings.

Its obvious with, for example, kittens. If a kitten is scared and injured, taking care of it will make it follow you around for pretty much the rest of their lives. It gives them a sense of security and safety being with what saved their lives.

Although they don't think of it as "kissing". When they lick, they do it because they want to help the other animal out by grooming it, and keep it clean. Hugging is just a sense of being close to the other animal, and preferably at face level.

Either way, its cute xD That's why I love animals and always will.

My Aunt had a lion as a pet when she were little. One day some thieves broke in to their house, and saw the adult lion on the floor. He ran towards them purring to greet them. They got so scared that they shot killed the lion, and then proceeded to loot the house.

On the subject of having a lion as a pet, I had a pet Keeshond growing up until he died a few years ago (For a reference, here's the wiki link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keeshond) who would often lay in our backyard with his head up looking down the driveway, with his ruff puffed around his neck and shoulders.

One day two elementary school kids were walking down the sidewalk and stop by our driveway. The one kid points to my dog and says to the other, "See, I told you they had a lion."
