Steak in general is not meant to be medium well or well done. I'm a medium rare girl. If I had to eat a ribeye, which I don't care for because of all the fat, I may consider medium to medium well. Not well done, though; if I wanted some beef jerky, I'd go to 7-11.

I prefer ribeyes to most cuts of meat, but usually only when i make it myself. There is just something about how all the fat in the meat comes off and leaves the most delicious smell and taste to it.

I always thought I hated steak when I was a kid. When I got older I realized it was because my father always made steaks medium-well to well-done. I had my first rare filet at the age of 10 and I haven't looked back since, so you can put me firmly in the "wipe its ass and send it out" camp.

I'm a medium well kind of person as well. I can't stomach looking at rare meat and think of eating it. I don't know what it is, but it makes me want to gag. Might be the texture, I don't know. Maybe I've never had one cooked correctly that wasn't well/medium-well. /shrug

I was "well done" for a long time. A few years ago, I tried med-rare, and I don't think I'll ever eat a well done steak again.

medium to med/rare = delicious. Its how the cows would want to be eaten.

I myself can't eat steak if its over medium-rare. I prefer it rare but nowhere ever does it properly. Except Maredo's in Duesseldorf they call it "English" and it's basically chucked into the pan for 5 seconds and server on a piping hot stone plate thing.
