It's not really that their damage sucks, it's that any other melee job will have a better impact on exp. I will tell you one thing though, I'd rather have a Dragoon in a running pt than a dark knight.

Get over it, Run a parser and see who deals more damage in that party. I'm not gonna deny that it will still be the monk (unless you have a Blm) but the Drg will be a close second if he has his wyvern out and knows what the hell he's doin, and that's more than I can say for a lot of other jobs.

Elitemage had a dick way to put it, but nonetheless I think Dragoon could use a boost from updates, specifically in their end game WS department. For all the dragoon lovers here, who would say they shouldn't get an update or they'll be overpowered?

The general problem with dragoons is this. What can they do that someone else can not do better.

Monks... Monk just kick ass. They don't even have to open Light for me, I'm happy with them beating the **** out of the mob.
Hell, even past 70 I'd never let a Dragoon in the skill chain, just let them solo Penta Thrust or something.

I could be wrong cause I don't know the particulars of skillchain formulas as you seem to, but I would think the added damage from that being bursted would be worth Drg ending the Skillchain.
