Well 18 hr sounds a lot better than 34 hr. :)
 
well last time it was 18hrs, I could not log on for more than 24hrs... so don't get your hopes that high up, and don't plant anymore for now lol
 
Also from the auto-translated JP site it doesn't sound like this is an "update" but rater an upgrade of the servers...etc..

Don't think there will be a download then.. which might make it easier to log back in once the maint. is done.. I know the one they did like this where the servers were upgraded a while back went pretty smooth...

Next week is my vacation so I can plan to do other sh*t during those hours plus I will be asleep for most of it. ^^

Once again it's maintenance after JP prime... go figure. >.<

Has anyone considered that both sites are correct? Maybe it's only 18 hours for the JP, but 34 for us? heh
 
Well, if you read the news article again, they changed it to be from 8:00 on the 8th to 2:00 on the 9th. They also said that they made a mistake when they first posted it.

And dangit, I hate SE now... was planning on doing CoP 3-5 on Monday >.<

wasen't that last update not only a patch for the game but installation of new server stuff? how much damn time does it take to replace hardware and reinstall for chrissake?? This is getting ridiculous, someone oughta let em know that doing it right the first time is often the best policy :P

Go Go gadget 18hrs maintenance + 2-20hrs to login availability + possible WIN.INI erasure thanks to Sqaures bang-up delivery / installation programs.

The only thing worse than this in my FFXI Life would be if they made FFXI for Xbox or something. . . . oh wait. They are doing that. Nevermind ._.
