wow...so if anyone hasent heard about the new [high delay] weapon trick, its when u disengage > rengage... i've seen it work... lol its like double/triple attack... saw a Drk pulling it off....

SO when enough peeps do this, SE gonna do some retarded nerf like..

"You will no longer be able to carry out an initial melee attack until 45sec after you draw your weapon"

*btw i have a clip of some dark doing it if ya want...(gotta ask him if i can share it first though*

I'll call it in myself. Just another way that low delay weapons get screwed.

Pfft, I already called that glitch in ages ago. GM told me to send an E-mail to Support. If I get nerfed, you ****ers are going down with me...

Wha are you talking about? You have to wait your weapon delay out before re-engaging. Countless times I've gotten "You must wait yadda yadda yadda" when trying to re-engage

{Yes, please.}

Whenever I try to engage something before the delay is up I get a message in red that says something like "You must wait longer to perform that action."

You have to macro it in I think. I've seen Dowzer doing it with a scythe, it was like he was swinging a god damn sword.

I do it on my BST all the time. I think the delay message only comes into effect after the mob is dead...you know going from one mob to the next.

Axe isn't exactly a high delay weapon. Neither are daggers and swords in the Red Mages case. Disengaging itself takes time, and longer should you be getting cast on/attacked.

It works, and the worst part is, it is really simple to do. It roughly drops any weapon down to a 270-280 weapon speed. With this trick all the %slow on N gear is meaningless.

This trick allows a drk/thf to out TP a hasted monk. Think about how wrong that one is.

ziph, that had to be the worst party ive been in in a while, save me, u and piroko :P

Just tried this out earlier. All I can say is wow. This really breaks high delay weapons lol. Imagine it with the Mercurial Sword? Woo!

If i'm farming and i see another prey, i just switch target and end the other battle with a nuke. That or stick an arrow in the next mob so when the current one dies, it automatically targets the other new mob, providing it's infront of me when it has to switch target.

I do this when farming at times...Or what sounds similar. Maybe not the same thing. It would appear that I am trying to train, but I am actually just trying to aggro the next MOB while still fighting the current one.

Nearly kill the first MOB, then unlock with weapons still drawn, and run towards the next MOB. When you take aggro from the new MOB, autotarget will allow you to fight it immediately after killing the first MOB.

Hence, no downtime. I do it with daggers, and I'd bet the benefit is much greater for 2 handed weapons.

So is this issue something that has to do with the auto-targeting? It sounds different somehow. Does it only work with macros, or can you manually disengage and re-engage?

Either way, it doesn't really sound like a big deal since the playing field is level. If one person can do it, so can others.

The point is that with a macro of /disengage and then re-engage ( I don't know the specifics) you can essentially turn a normally 500+ delay weapon into about a 270 delay weapon. Yet still getting the same amount of TP for the high delay.

It's basically watching someone disengage and re-engage on their same mob making them swing faster. Glitchy glitch glitch glitch.

edit: forgot to mention that this trick would do NOTHING for those with already low delay weapons.

I swear when I auto-target the next MOB, I attack just a bit faster on the first swing.

I don't think it's a big deal though.

The macro in point (as far as I know, this exploit must be used via macro. other means will give you the red message):

/disengage
/wait 1
/autoattack <t>

You manually engage the initial time, then just loop the macro. Sneaky, the way you're suggesting also works, but only for farming or links. This is due to the way the counters for weapon delay are:

1. When you disengage from your current target, your weapon delay is reset to 0.
2. When your current target dies, your weapon delay counter is reset to 0.

Re. #1, using the macro above will reset your delay counter every time you disengage. The macro automatically engages again (without the red message), and after a 20-40 delay you swing. Disengage, re-engage, 20-40 delay, swing. Lather rinse repeat.

This does indeed work, though it is an exploit and it's annoying as hell to watch and listen to. I was rather jealous of the drk who I watched do this, but I have not tried it myself to compare parsed results. Rest assured, it greatly increases the per-fight damage output of anyone with a 350+ delay weapon.

This has been a known exploit for at least 5 months, which is about when I first heard about it. I do hope SE fixes this, and soon. It's an exploit that honestly will drive you clinically insane. Hearing the click and schwing of a scythe 20 times a minute is enough to hospitalize even Krang (and he's a freaking armoured brain).
