Actually, I lagged out when the fur started to fly. DL went down with only Jescer, Starfyre and Divton on stungun duty. By the time I got things up and running again, I popped back in just in time to get the 30 second warning before getting booted from the zone.

How did you guys time out? If we go for a DL attempt we always have 45 minutes to an hour or so from the time Y&Y die to when we'll get booted.

Something always goes wrong with chainstun though :\

Well it was the first time we actually got to the ramp where the shadow dragons are. Getting past the wall of eye proved to be a bit difficult but we managed, obviously.

This was a first for most of us so explaining strat (even if it was done before entering), recovering from deaths, etc, that took some time that we will probably have next time. I think we got to DL with 7-8 minutes to spare. First pull failed and we killed it with 1-2 minutes I think, but unfortunately many deaths without RR.

DL itself took about 2:30 I think to kill.

Some people were dead and not able to check the ??? to get the win, same thing with them not being able to pass the shadow mantle and the jadeshell.

There is a ??? and unfortunately a few people didn't get raised in time or got raised but couldn't find the ??? before getting booted. Those didn't get the key item/ title but will soon.

At least we learned something, EVERYONE needs RR for DL fight. Unless you have liek 20 minutes left tho I guess.

Shiiiiit, you have to be kidding :/ That's a real kick in the teeth. I think the last time I went to DL I had 2 RR hairpins lol (kept it on so I wouldn't have to wait for the timer when I RR'd). Atleast you have the pretty pictures.

*edit* And I think Pere meant that 75blm 70+rdm had both and vise-versa. How many people honestly only have 1 75 job in a well established Dynamis shell? most have 2-3 70+ jobs. I HIGHLY doubt a level 7 Rdm is walking around with Duelist's Chapeau in their locker. Think please. :/

I wouldn't say Dynamis Lord is a lost cause and a waste of time, by any means at all. Shadow Mantle and Shadow Ring, while being mostly status items, have their uses. I can't think of many nend-game items that are NOT situational (which Shadow Ring and Shadow Mantle, are too). Almost all AF2 are situational for most jobs, so saying Shadow Ring and Shadow Mantle are useless, is like saying AF2 is useless. But still, there's people out there who only do Dynamis ot get AF2.

Personally, I do Dynamis for fun. I don't do it for AF2. I do it for the fun, and for the story. I want to at one point kill Dynamis Lord, just for the sake of being able to say I've done it. I believe lolDynamis think the same way.

AF2 is situational, Shadow Ring and Mantle are situational. Almost all end-game items are situational. You can't deny that. You can do most any end-game event without these items, they won't magically get you the win just because you have them. They are situational, and makes the owner just a little bit more pimp. And that's the reason people want them.

While they are not important themselves, and won't magically get you the win, they do make it easier. Every time Shadow Mantle kicks in, is less damage taken by the person who owns it. This adds up, and makes the WHMes spend less MP. That's how all items work, they don't suddenly make the owner a god.

The reason people say Shadow Mantle and Shadow Ring is useless, is because they, themselves, know they can't get it. What they can't possibly get, is not worth getting for them, and is deemed useless. I can assure you, that those who have a chance at getting it, will think the complete opposite. And I can assure you, that if you had the chance of getting it, you wouldn't say "No".

So by saying Dynamis Lord is useless, is nothing more then saying you don't think its worth it. But obviously, lolDynamis thought it was the opposite. They wanted to kill Dynamis Lord for several reasons.

And I feel its worth repeating. Almost everything, including most end-game items, are situational. And almost all of them can be replaced by something else, that can almost completely copy the effect of the item. So seriously, why are you saying they're (Shadow Mantle + Shadow Ring) are useless?

I like to think I do. My point was about Pere's constent reminder of how people in his LS get relic armors for a second job which is pretty consistent in every Dynamis LS. My point was about how he thinks for some reason that makes Invictus superior to all the other Dynamis shell who do the same but just don't see the need to specify it since... it's... nothing special. My point is..

You know what, fuck it. Whoever wanted to downgrade the accomplishement we did last night out of jaleousy or whatever reason are succeeding right now. This thread was just a quick /hurray and somehow people felt the need to come piss on it.

As said earlier, we were supposed to have 4. Jescer+Starfyre began stunning as soon as we engaged, and Divton+Neyla were to start around 50 sec in. But Neyla DCed, so 3 apparantly got the job done.

I asked dead people to DC themselves because we d ind't have time to get everyone up, but that didn't happen :\ I can't say I'm angry though, 1/1 on DL is more than satisfying enough. We'll get more mantles.

Huge QFT. I love our shell, we're a great group. DL's items may not be the most useful items in the game... But you can say the same about pretty much everything outside of sky and 3 kings. Killing DL with a group I've come so close to is more important than the items.
