It's mine!! The only thing I actually wanted for Christmas but never asked for. I would have been pleased with Left 4 Dead as well.

Now I can prove my level of skills!! I am a rockstar \m/

Morchy ish the drummer extrodinaire!!

EDIT: Just need my xbox repaired and I'm good heh

Woo \m/

another one joins the ranks

I get my RROD'd xbox back monday, incidentally >_>

Set aside a whole day to just rock the hell out with the gang ;o

Yeppers..

and Eleib I will do so! We can paint the town Black Metal lol

I need to get RockBand myself. The second I have enough money I'm going to invest.

Is it just me or does it seem like guitar play got marginally harder in Rockband 2?

I never played enough Guitar hero to compare. I know I don't really like playing the guitar in either game. I find it boring, and it is hard yes.

No no, not GH, just between RB1 and RB2, it seems guitar play difficulty went up.

It did, significantly. Many people complained about RB1 being too easy (and compared to GH2 or 3, it was), so Harmonix changed that with RB2. I personally think the difficulty is pretty good in RB2. Nothing on-disc is batshit insane, but there are enough fun higher level songs to keep players satisfied.

Oh sorry, misunderstood.

RockBand 1 guitar I barely played, although I've played more RB1 than 2, still I stuck to the drums. But hey if the difficulty went up in general it's a good thing, well to a degree. Just like all the bells and whistles they will be adding to the drums.

They're going to pump this version up overall, and beyond my interests.

Also, if you haven't yet, calibrate lag in RB2. The lag calibration is... how do I put this...

Fucked.

Even if you're on a "lagless" CRT, you know, the kind of TV where every other rhythm game will work fine without having to calibrate, you WILL have to calibrate for RB2.

I may try that because I was beginning to wonder if I had no rhythm or if I needed to do that.

What does that affect exactly? I only noticed the calibration being out of whack on vocals and only when I used it at my cousins with her TV. That was also on the ps3 so I'm not sure the differences there, as well it was rb1. But, would if affect the guitar and the drums as well?? The vocals seem fine on my system, there's no delay which was what I experienced at her place.

I am glad they upped the difficulty for RB2, but that tells me maybe I should play RB1 to learn hard mode then graduate to RB2

My brother recently got this, of course for the wrong console therefore I can't play with most of you guys D=.

I got stuck on drums and I do have to say they're pretty hard, I've set it on easy mode simply coz well It was my first time playing and I managed to get an overall 80% which to me was good...even if it was on easy lol.

what surprises me is that although I've never heard half of the songs, they're actually really good/funny/entertaining and worth a download on to your mp3 player lol. I haven't started career mode yet since it was getting late and people had school and what not lol.

I'm pretty impressed with it seeing as all I did was bashed my brother for buying it...I of course apologised but will continue to bash him for getting it on the 3 and not the 360 which means I can't play with most of you ; ;

Let's say you have a note. We'll represent that note with a big O.

Now, we'll have the virtual "timing window" you have to hit the note. That "timing window" will be represented by vertical bars ||.

The note, O, should represent the exact center point of the timing window, ||. Thus,

|__O__|

If your calibration is off, you'll get something like

|____O|

Where it feels like you can hit the note way early but have no window at all behind the note, or conversely

|O____|

which is the opposite, early won't work, have to be late.

This also applies to sound. The sound the note, O, should be associated with should also match up with the exact moment (or extremely close to) the note crossing the hit bar at the bottom of the note highway.

Lag can even get worse, to where the hit window is perfectly centered visually but the sound doesn't come until later. etc.

Is the calibration for RB better than GH? I remember trying to set the calibration on my friends game, and it just made things far worse... the readings were so far off from each other that we just kept it how it was.

Did anyone else notice the influx of female leads in RB2 compared to RB1? I think they figured out wich sex uses the mic.

I prefer to sing... but yes, I did notice a lot of female leads even though damn near all the songs are more male friendly.

I'm just happy cause I can finally play guitar and bass on hard for all but the worst of songs...
