I think of all the posts here that deserve applause, Lavi's are the ones. If you are going to be posted on Crafter's corner as a high lvl crafter - there should be proof of your achievements. It is not right to have a source of information for users to consult for a crafter if that information is not legit.

I guess the only way PS2 users can prove their feats would be to find a PC user or Digital Camera the tele. Not much else I can think of.

I think Rappa makes a good point though too. You all harp on Odon but what about the other 30ish crafters? Where's their proof? Bash them all or bash none. And not everyone has a digital camera... I have none x.x no one I know has one that they'd let me use or would want to use just to prove to some internet people (whom I and they have no care about) see what one of my stats are in a game.

if odon's on ps/2 how does he frap all his succuessfull sinths or the ones that break hard? do you purposfully switch to pc to take fraps every time your craft?

I've switched when i hit 75 but its kind of a pain in the ass to switch just to take pics of what i'm crafting. Especially if i only had one account. dunno, just through more shit into the mess :thumbsup:

hehe... Vang's on that list and others I've seen on there that have posted SEVERAL times about their amazing crafts (they are allowed that right, they earned it). You gonna make one prove they are said level.. make the others.

How about this for a new policy. Anyone that wants to make the high crafters list has to provide proof. This way the list will be even more elite and therefore i guarentee crafters will take the extra 10 seconds to post a screeny that will most likely turn into more gil for them in the future.

If i had to choose between jono and odon doing a subligear desynth for me right now i would ask jono to do it. And you know what i guarentee jono would send me a screeny of his level if i asked him to do so.

i had a 100+3 leathercraft break my cursed pumps synth, which is lvl98... just sayin'.... its not impossible for it to happen by any means

Well, I don't know who the hell Jonosapi is, but I know who Odon is, i was screwing around with him once on Sonicboom's (irl friend) account and stuff, for fun =P anyway, i dont see why he should care if odon is telling the truth or lieing, and if he lied, who cares, and if he didnt, it still doesnt do you any good, if he didn't want to give someone the HQ or something, good for him, thats his choice, i mainly side odon on this because this flame seemed pointless to me

I for one do care if he lies or not. I take into consideration that behind the monitors of every character ingame, there's another person. I respect that person, and treat her if she were standing in front of me. I've made some very cool friendships with FFxi, and mmorpgs alike. So yeah, i DO care if he's telling the truth or lying.
92 CC and 98, there's a bigass diff.
Point of the fact is, he just wants attention. He shouldn't be in the Crafter's corner without proof. He's got nothing to backup his story. Jono does.

Pointless till the day you ask Odon to craft you something, thinking he's got 98 or 100 CC, when he actually doesn't.
Pointless till you trust him with a 9mil piece of craft item, and he breaks it and doens't even prove it.
Pointless till he scams you over, cause that's what he might have done with Dakko's item.

I hate taking sides on stuff, and never post in the Flameboard, but sometimes people go too far as to fucking other guys over for the heck of it.
Odon, grow some ballz and prove you're worthyness. Once you do, this'll go away real fast.

If you don't, however, you'll still be regarded as a loser for most the Quetzy population.

I didnt believe Unphazed was 100 in his craft, so he gave me his account information and I looked for myself. I have in fact confirmed that he is 100 in leather.Additionally, He did not believe that I was 100 in wood, so I gave him my account information and he can indeed confirm I am 100.

When I go to trial on shit, I don't have to have pictures, but it makes it a hell of a lot easier to get a conviction.

To be honest it doesn't really matter if someone is 100 or 50 besides being the danger that he might rip people off or brag way 2 much.I mean a crafter literally helps others .... in most cases anyway.The crafting mats cost as much or more than the normal craft n it comes with the risk of breaking... and most ppl buy mats from AH since usually the drops from Hnms n gods are split between 1 or 2 people (sarc...)so err there is a very small number of ppl who get mats for free n need a crafter to craft something.i remember the only thing i ever wanted crafted was amamet plus 1 but err do the math n its not even worth taking the risky pretty much.

This a stickied thread in the Crafter's Corner with a list of 95+ crafters. Odon is among them, but refuses to even prove he is that high. I don't suggest that he alone should be asked to provide proof that he is that high, anyone wishing to be listed should be held to the same standard. So really how far am I reaching? A stickied post on QCDN stating he is that high, seems as close to promoting it as it gets to me. And really it's not a lot to ask so that people can have piece of mind when they ask a stranger to craft for them and to prevent potential scams.

By the way, a few months back someone started sending PMs about having 100 level craft(s) and people called him/her out on it. I do believe he/she was subsequently banned as it was considered a scam. So how is this any different?

But if you want to leave it to the crafters to moderate themselves, then I contest I am 103 goldsmithing and if the rest of those high level crafters aren't held to a simple test, then neither am I. Still offering HQ Fire Ring...

Very well, now that you have pointed out a potential problem, how about offering a solution? A screenshot doesn't really mean anything at all, even those without much skill can grab a gfx program and edit a screenshot to their liking.

How could Jonosapi possibly know what level Odon is at? Why is this even an issue? Are there any actual complaints from people who have a problem with Odon's crafting? 3rd parties do not count in my book, it's all hearsay.

The thread you mentioned lists 7 people that have clothcraft above 95, Jonosapi is one of them, I don't see him proving that he is indeed 98. If I were to make a post like this, I would be so in everyone's face with my 98 and calling everyone else out on their skill. Then it could go either way, either I would get owned by everyone else (somehow) proving that they are high skill too, and I would have sucessfully made an ass out of myself, or some people would be found giving incorrect info, and I'd be the hero of the day.

Be that as it may (and this is directed at Jonosapi really), the key point is that if someone, anyone, wants to get something done (rather than just bitching about stuff), then one has to offer a solution, and preferably post the issue in such a manner that the target audience is not alienated.

If on the other hand bitching is the goal, then the one who's called out will rarely give in.

This is for everyone, everywhere, in game and in real life:
If you want someone to do something for you, and you are not in a position of authority to make them do it, then you will have to ask yourself; If someone were to ask me to do what I want the other guy to do, under which circumstances would I do it? When you get the answer to that question, then you have the means to make the other person do what you want them to do.
