Long awaited Flame on Odon

Well, I guess since odon doesnt charge people any gil to synth, its up to the individual to take his word or not. However if any high lvl synther wants to make their abilities available to the general public for a profit, i honestly think they should post screenshots. Granted these could be faked, but honestly, unless SE made crafts somehow visible to others in game, i dont know how else to prove actual skill level. who knows, they may some day implement search functions for crafters ie. /sea all clothcraft 90-100 (wishful thinking i know, but it would work).
 
This thread sucks... but im on Jono's side in the fact that if Odon wanted to easily prove he was right he could just post a screenshot and stop the false accusations, pretty simple.
 
17 pages of this shite and the only screenshot is from Decidence...good news is i started lvl'n CC when i started reading, and now i'm at a lvl high enough to make the sticky list...no screenshot, no sticky, seems simple enough. and f'ck failed synths, lets see some successful ones and a comment or two from satisfied customers...<peace>

Lavi: You would have never made that suggestion if Jonosapi and Odon didn't decide to measure their crafting erections in public, point being, it has never been an issue, if it isn't broke don't fix it. The nobles issue so far hasnt even been about if Odon was high enough to make, but about where the cloth went. So stop pushing it like its an urgent problem and we are all being lied to by people on the High High Crafter's List. It may be a solution, but as Sculli said if someone really wants to rip people off, they will go to the lengths to do so.
 
heres a concept: vang likes to keep his CC secret, though eventually people found out he's 98, right? if no one had found out and someone flamed him over it, do you think he would post a screen shot? would you be treating him the same way? I don't think so.
 
Odon would be power lvling CC as we speek just to post that screenshot fo sure but eh on the other hand he might just poof

My point has been everyone listed in that thread of high level crafters should be asked to verify the level in some way and not just Odon. If they don't or cannot, they should be removed from the list or listed as unverified. Atleast that way when members go to ask a crafter there is atleast some guarantee they are getting what they ask for. Don't mistake me for the rest of these people flaming or backing Odon, I am merely trying to make sure some good comes out of this.

As far as using screen shots as proof, yes, it is quite possible to photoshop something and pass it off as real. However, it is my hopes that someone can make a better solution or people can look at the pictures posted, scrutinize it themselves and come to their own conclusion. If at all possible ask for a camera picture of the screen and then post that pic since it is a lot harder to photoshop a camera picture than it is a screen shot.
 
It's kind of strange that after being called out Odon is refusing to show a screen shot. Seems like a good way to put Jono in his place. Like most people said it doesn't really matter I spose.
 
I think if everyone is worried about being ripped off...well, buyer beware isn't it?

And why don't we require a screenshot (although, who the hell knows if it was photoshopped) of their crafting abilities of the other crafters? Otherwise, I could just say I"m 100 goldsmithing and just expect people to give me stuff and I'll break it for them.. If you're demanding it from Odon, you might as well make a thread to demand everyone to insert their photoshopped crafting abilities beside their lists.

I think this thread hurts Odon's new customers but it seems he has enough people that believe him that it'll still support him. It does affect the community that he may be misposting his craft skill..but that's what this thread is for....well, you can make up your own decision and decide if you want to ask him for help. Or you can find some other high level crafter.

Btw, this seems very much like a witch hunt. Searching for proof Odon is a high level crafter..and when we get the proof, everyone probably won't believe it anyways. Everyone's pretty much made up their mind already.
 
Point of the fact is, he just wants attention. He shouldn't be in the Crafter's corner without proof. He's got nothing to backup his story. Jono does.

I don't see Jono posting a screenshot, so the "proof" is equal; all I know is the stuff Jono crafted tends to be the same crap Odon crafts, and Jono's best ammo vs him is the fact that he screenied that he broke a Cursed Dalma (as if he's never broken an expensive synth himself).....and did he start accusing Odon of being 93 then change to 92, or did I just misread somewhere alone the way?


Either way....this thread is one of the biggest loses ever. Please just post a screenshot Odon ><"

In the end it is a matter of trust.
Either you trust someone's word that their crafting is at 100, or you don't.
Either you trust someone's word that their screenshot is genuine, or you don't.
No matter what, there is no practical way to independantly verify someone's skill.

So unless there is a valid reason to distrust someone, the player will probably just have to go with trust, since there are really no other options. Alternativly a player can level their own craft to be 100% sure of at what skill a synth will be attempted.

It's kindof funny if you think about it...the only real way to prove what your level in something is would be to give your account info to the person...but if they can't trust you, it automatically nulls any reason to trust them since they obviously have a negative outlook towards you. I don't think it's irony, but it is one of those fancy words.. =P
 
Okay here is the deal with the Photoshop. You CAN determine if the image was photoshopped. Photoshop leaves a special HEX mark on the image. So technically you would be able to figure out if the image is real or not.

So the entire issue has been misunderstood.

My very fist line is that Odon is a liar. He tells tall tales all the time, he stretches the truth. The crafting example I gave is just one that I remember vividly because I am a crafter. I used it as an example for the simple fact he could easily prove it. Yet he has not, over 1 day later. This issue of him being 98 has stemmed back months. I asked him what level his leather was when he said he was 98, his leather was 39 so he said. This makes no sense at all to me, why would you make dance shoes if you can't make the mocasins? You need leather as a sub anyway, why get someone else to make those mocasins for you, I just don't get it. This is why I have reason to believe he lies about his crafting level. It is only one of the many things odon lies about. I wouldnt doubt odon is 95 cloth, you don't need any subs, but to say you are 98 you need the leather sub, that is where I base my assumption.

Another lie I can remember, many months ago Maseki found a theif knife for 40M. It was a great deal seeing how everyone else wanted 60+mil at the time. He had several items to sell, but needed some quick cash. Odon had been talking about his 100M on his mules all week. The time comes for him to pony up a short loan, 40M. NO DICE

Scullie you take this all to serious. I am calling Odon a liar, thats it. Is there another section I should be calling him a liar? Didnt think so, flame board it is.


I play on PS2, anyone know a way I can take screenies? I have no shame in showing all 3 of my crafting characters levels.

I am not the only one that knows Odon lies. Show some support, give some minor fibs you have caught Odon in.

I am done talking about the crafting thing, He has not proved it, only one conclusion to draw.....any guesses?

Odon died for my moldavite earring the night Alanon, Sabia and Kiere were all helping me with my AF. I don't think he ever lied about helping me out with that. Am I allowed to post that here? Or should we start a How Odon has helped me thread?
