long term commitment?

What's variable right now is when I will do it. I don't think it makes sense to start something like this early in the year. By the time it gets going the summer comes around, and then people may be too busy to pay attention.

While it's not necessary to use the item right away, I am sure that a bunch of people will do that and it will generate some discussion. That momentum can be totally lost in July/August.

Perhaps giving 50 or "x" out in April/May and 50 out October/November would also prove this? Or maybe...Just maybe, if the item and bond between participants is stong enough that there won't be a difference, or maybe you'd see the reverse happen.

With a 50 year test at hand, I'm just tossing out ideas. :)

Haha, true that!
Practially speaking 25 years is probably more reasonable. Participants will come from all walks of life and all ages and such. One of the outcomes I am hoping for is the ability to demonstrate that it is never to late to do something.

You've peaked my curiosity in a big way on this, i'm down if you put something together, i got nothing but time.

Interest -1

 I'm just kidding. I really do find this whole idea fascinating. I'm not easily intrigued on these boards nowadays, but I will definately keep myself updated on this topic. I give you props, Sculli cause you are the most in-depth person when it comes to getting a reaction from people. You know how to keep us on the edge of our seats, that's for sure!!

Hmmm, well Sculli as most ppl dont really know a thing a bout me here, other than "yea hes that Gimp War mithra dude, he can draw for sure...". I am a skeptical person, that loves to research stuff i am asked to get into. 95% of the results i find when i do research on certain ventures are very displeasing.

After reading this thread, and seen others ppl reaction to your initial post, and knowing the quality of the ppl who replied, I will join the bandwagon and bug you for info. heh
As you have stated "is not a get rich quick scam", there does not seem to be an upfront capitol fee(It means your not trying to rip me off, wich i respect), and its something i will be able to benefit from, and in the process gain a good group of awsome ppl as lifetime friends; you have certainly caught my attention.

There does not seem to be any legal repricutions, so it A OK in my book.

And knowing me, its pretty hard to get me interested when it comes to things that i have to invest time on, since time to me is more precious than any amount of monetary gain. You only live once after all.

From the time i joined these boards you have have proven that you are a very just, honest (sometimes too honest) and down to hearth guy as well as extremely helpful. You have earned my respect and some of my trust. One quote i follow in my life, was said by John C. Maxwell "There are no stranger to me in this world, only friends that i have not met". With that said, I'd be willing to take on this project, of course no promises can be made at this point. But i always keep an open mind.

Looking foward to the projects info being revealed.

Later:biggrin:

SO!

PM me or something, Sculli.

:P

Ha!
Can't do, I will when I have this stuff set up, but I got to keep close tabs on it till then.

I think that they proved that shocking your abs does not give you a six pack.

To me this sounds kinda like R&D for some freaky new product that you came up with though. I'd be interested though if it's like a magic 8 ball, or a rubics cube. I already got something for $20 that I'll have for the rest of my life already though.

25 year R&D wouldn't really make sense from a business perspective. ;)

To ease some people's concerns, the item is not associated with any religion either.

Sounds good this, and id be up for posting on a forum once a year no worries.Im not one that goes chucking stuff that apparantly doesnt work etc out either so i should have it a good amount of years down the line.

if your making a guinea pig / volunteer list then sign us up!

-Btw i need to talk to you again sculli

Sounds good. I just didn't want you to think that I had forgotten about it so soon. :P

There is nothing in my life that I can think of that I've kept like that, that I can equate to. There is no item that I use for my whole lifetime, or that I can think of that I will use.

The one thing that I have in my life that has lasted for a "lifetime" is my friends. And if having an item means I stay in contact with my friends, then that will be the reward in itself to continue using that item. That item would actually be one of the most valuble things I'd have then.

So yes Sculli if the "community" consisted of my group of friends then I'd continue using the thing just to continue seeing them. I can't see the thing having any other real value if it's worth only $20, I even got tired of my teddy bear as a kid, why keep anything else?

if it is something that is not terribly time consuming (like i could "use it" in say 15 minutes or less) and it wouldn't hurt anyone (or my pride) I would use it too.
yup! if it meets jender's qualifications, then hell, i'll do it.
