yup somehow i knew this was going to happen.

"Due to the extreme popularity of the kraken club and trouble arising as a result of a large number of players attempting to acquire the item, the monster that previously dropped the club (Lord of Onzozo) will do so no longer. A new method of obtaining the item is currently under consideration and will be implemented shortly. There are no plans on changing the drop rate of the item in question. However, the development team would like to grant players more opportunities to obtain it.

Please check back here for further updates on this issue."

Just like most players are using PCC, eh?

It's not gonna change anything, besides removing the gilseller monopoly on another peice of gear. Like SE said, the drop rate will remain the same.
 
Kraken's will increase as more are coming into a server then people dropping them or getting rid of them when delteing there account. But it will be the same increase as it usally is. Just be a different way to get it.

The only way to keep the over all drop rate the same (I refer to drops/time rather than drops/mob or BC) is to keep it on a NM which ultimately voids the entire meaning in changing the drop conditions. If SE changes it to anything besides a NM (which I believe they will), you can just spam the BC, ISNM, salvage, w/e until it drops regardless of how limited the entry conditions are.
 
What if they just change it to multiple NMs that drop a r/ex version, and change all current copies into r/ex?
 
r/ex Kclub (all versions, old and new) would be amazing, because they could not be monopolized for gil, and they SHOULD only go to those who worked, camped, and killed the mob... not some rich 12 yr old who can buy 150mil to get one.

Then in the end it'd be equally monopolized as it is now, since it's just as easy to sell lotting rights of an item as it is selling the item itself.
 
maybe they put in a enm type battle where you can only go once a week?
 
Something that COULD work, but would never be implimented, is a lottery system. Whoever wants one "buys" a ticket, and a random one is selected where it opens up the NM or ENM or whatever it may be to that person and their party. And to keep the clubs to a minimum a strict drop rate would be necessary.

- An issue with the multiplayer battlefield: Salvage, where other members would become unable to enter the Salvage area if an alliance member leaves the alliance during the attempt. This has been addressed.

- The weapon "Kraken Club" has been added into the reward table for the Moon Orb battle field "Up in Arms," which is located at the Waughroon Shrine.
 
they like to do the whole "This was once on a NM and money maker but we'll shove into a BCNM" thing huh?
