Any self reputable Linkshell will not just give A hands away to someone that is leaving the shell as soon as they get them Shmedly... we are cool in game and i disagree with your means to getting them... Hardwork and dedication is how you get end game gear... unless you get a group of friends and farm the stuff yourself...

There were quite a few people that posted with good information that I needed.

Yes, I understand that they are not going to just give them away. I will be finding people to help farm the items I need, now that I know I don't need an alliance to take down Genbu. I went about this thread wrong. I asked for help from a LS, because I don't have 18 people to fight him with. I should have just asked what it takes to kill Genbu. My mistake.

Also, I'm not sure if this was suggested but there are a few shells out there that do sky only I believe. You mentioned hating the HNM scene so I'm not sure if you hate sky too, but if you don't you may wish to look into those. It can be fun with the right group of people.

Edit: Also, just my opinion here, but I would recommend Demon Helm +1 or AF+1 for head over A.Head. I have A.Head and never use it except to look cute in pictures. Also I don't think that Serket is worth the price for blm. Tamas/Snow/Sorcerer's just seem better imo.

No I don't hate sky at all. I had a lot of fun up there.

I have a Demon Helm right now, but A.Head(along with a couple other pieces of gear) would be a quick way to activate the latent effect for Sorc ring.

I don't personally know the OP, but his inquiry wasn't completely absurd. I've heard of shells selling abjurations. This guy wants to go there and earn them if anyone is willing to accept him based on what he said. If he's willing to earn them I doubt he'll be one of those blms that hangs out in his social shell while his sky shell is farming.

Then again, I'm just a guy that started a dynamis shell so I could hoarde everything myself last I heard on QCDN.

Good luck with getting your hands Shmedly. If you are interested in a sky-only shell I'd recommend Rawr. I'd recommend my current shell (Fury) as well because they rock, but I'm not sure that you're interested in more than sky. If you decide just to try it with a pickup group I wish you luck, but I've seen 5 Genbu wins in one night with no a.hands dropping so it may come down to luck or a lot of pop sets if you go about it that way.

Oh and a duh at me for not realizing why you'd want a.head. :wacko:

Well at least one person understood what I was getting at lol. And you are right about the farming. I never missed a farm seesion when I was in sky because those were some of the funnest times there. Relaxing most of the time(unless camping Ulli with 50 RMT), hanging with people and joking around killing stuff.

Yeah, when I was in a sky shell for a couple months we killed quite a few Genbu's and they never dropped so I know what a pain it is.

Thanks for the recommendation. In the future I may be interested in going back to the endgame stuff, but for now I think I'll just farm some pop items and at least try a few times. Although frustrating at time, it never hurts to try.

Anyway I still think serket is overpriced for using it to just activate Sorcerer's Ring. I suppose in rare occasions you may need it but even as a hume I don't need to take that much HP off to activate the latent. Zenith and Ether+Astral would work. He's a taru so I can't imagine that he'd need quite that much that he'd require a serket.

I never said that Zenith was useless to black mage, I was simply in a nuking gear frame of mind. If I thought it was useless I wouldn't have it. =P

Edit: The reason I posted that I only use it to look cute in pictures is because I don't have a sorcerer's ring yet so until then it's somewhat useless. I suppose you could use it for soloing though, if you run low on mp too easily. I've never tested that so I'm not sure if it would be useful in that situation or not.

I suppose if you're looking for the least gear possible it would be better. I'd rather carry one or two extra items and spend the gil elsewhere but I guess it comes down to personal preference.

Sorry, my post wasn't entirely directed at you. It was more towards all blm's in general. But yeah, I had already posted by the time I saw that he had corrected you. My bad =/ Sorry.

With 3 HP merits, I needed to shave off a little more than 200hp.

I've actually got a really retarded nooby story that happened to me last week when I FINALLY got my sorcerer's ring activated... I uncursed my brand spanking new zenith crown and slacks, sold my pcc and immediately bought sorc.ring and a few more pieces of hp>mp and went outside to test my new improved MAB on lesser colibris.

Did a conversion, but looked like not quite enough. 1060dmg. Ok. I then converted enough HP>MP. 1060 again. WTF? Walked back to my MH and grabbed my star necklace for +15 more hp>mp. Converted. Cast on a lesser colibri. 1060 again. WTF? Went to AH and bought even more hp>mp. Converted again. 1060 again. WTF!! Fuming angry by this point.

I then walk back to my freakin MH and DROP 3 hp merits. THIS TIME THIS IS GOING TO WORK GODDAMMIT.

Go outside. Cast Thunder4. 1060dmg.

I swear I about broke my keyboard over my knee.

It was then that I realized I had made a mistake in the beginning and had already activated my latent without even realizing it. Don't ask me how. I've read those damn guides over and over and I was pretty sure I had had it figured out, but for some reason I just couldn't fathom what was going on until I had already dropped those 3 HP merits...

Anyway, there's my fun sorcerer's ring story.
