In My Opinion:

1. Being humans this can never be attain!
2. If we cant attain peace within ourselves first there is no way for us to attain this world peace we hope for!
3. The cycle of life and death (being natural or unnatural) abolishes it!
4. IMO, world peace is like "god's enlightenment" we hope for it, but we will never trully attain it!
5. As a country, we cant keep peace within our own borders (same goes with other countries). How in the hell are we suppose to attain world peace?
6. Fear causes panic, strife, and hatred which will ultimately lead to some kind of warfare (being religious, personal, or between countries).
7. As for war, war is the ultimate killer to world peace. If there is war there will NEVER be world peace!

As you can see world peace is something that we hope for, but cant ever attain. I say if you want to have a taste of true world peace live inside your dreams. If you dont want to do that then I suggest you open your damn eyes and realize that what you hope for is unattainable. I am not suggesting you stop hoping for this. I am just pointing out the truth that most of us are afraid to say or even think of.

*Any and all opinions are welcomed*

World peace is something only miss America contenders want. If there was no conflict, there would be no growth. We would be locked in perpetuity. No conflict means no evolution. No evolution means no growth. No growth means death. You can wish for it all you want, but it wouldn't work and if it could, I wouldn't want it to. Both sides of the scale must be balanced.

World Peace can never be attained, human emotion prevents it, so long as human emotion exists peace will never be possible.

Theres been war and conflict ever since there has been cognative thought in human mind. I dont think theres too much we can do to change 20,000 years of genetically engineered thinking. As long as theres been man, theres been conflict. As long as man exists, there will only -be- conflict.

World peace is a nice little thing to dream about and hope for, but its just not a realistic goal. People need to come to terms with reality and accept that there will always be war as long as there are people on the earth... just deal with it. Thats all my little 17yr old mind can put together before SAT night :?

I don't agree with this. While it is true that a lot of research are made in the goal of developping new weapons and that a lot of research in medecine are also made with the purpose of improving soldiers health and interventions on the field, it's not the end of it.

If for some reason war would be stopped tomorrow, world peace suddenly occur, research would still go on, just towards a different goal. Imagine now all the people available to help in any field to advance in it, the sharing of information, the sharing of knowledge. It is also a fact that research is something that always grows in speed. Develop more tools to help your research, find new technologies faster to help develop even faster tools, etc.

I am not day dreaming or anything, I am just pointing out that ending all conflict does not means the end of evolution. It just means a change in the goals of those research.

Now, that being said, I personally think world-peace is something that wil never occur as long as there are different religions. And I am not saying one is better then another, that is not the point. But if you look at history, 99% (I'd say 100% but I don't know about all and every war that ever happened) of the conflicts/ war that took place are based on religious conviction, to a degree or another. Weither it's the cruisades, forced conversion of native americans, middle-east conflict or one german guy's hate towards a religious group, it all start with a religious belief. After that it might get mixed up with other stuff, like money and power, but at the core of it, it's always religion.

Why? Well, we are all religious or know someone who is religious, no matter towards what god. Some re more easy-going, but some are hardcore believer. These person will go to every means to persuade people that they are right and there is nothing you can say that will make them change their mind. Just think back on an argument you had with a friend about a subject you were both ocnvinced to be right about, things can get pretty heated.

Now, imagine ig you have 1 million of people arguing like that with another million of people. It is a know fact that the bigger a crowd is, the lower the intellectual age is. So there you go, perfect recipe for a conflict.

Anyway, just my 2 cents on the subject.

One last thing, the irony in all this, is if you want world-peace,you have to convert everyone into one religion, which you will probably have to do through war. And as long as there is ONE person not converted, he will try to get more people to follow him... conflict again.

So, good luck with that!
