Looking for pet advice.

Except a dog is going to piss and shit all over your house.

lmao...did you think I meant INSIDE? I have my stupid moments, but I'm not that retarded. It's called a fence and if you don't have one of those just tie em up, a leash or even a length or rope or chain(depending on your dog) will work just as well. I suppose if you live in an apartment that's not an option, but if you live in an apartment chances are more likely that you don't have a dog anyway.

And if you train your dog right Eili they won't get into anything they're not supposed to.

Leaving the dog outside for several days is mistreating the dog, though. Especially in a leash. If it does not have a leash, several things can happen, like it running away, hurting himself, etc. Besides, he might bark really loud ad night and disturb the neighbors, and they won't be especially happy.

I really would NOT recommend leaving a dog outside alone for several days. Would be much better to get a friend of the family or something to go out with the dog while you're away.

Sure, if your dog has a low level of intelligence and doesn't get bored easily :P

also, about leaving the dog unattended in a yard tied or untied... what if they hurt themselves? Got the chain/rope/cord wrapped around their neck? Simply speaking, dogs aren't smart enough to leave to their own devices. If there is trouble to be had, they will seek it out :o

I'd say get a cat. I have a siamese cat, shes sleeping right behind me <3

The only problem is is that..yes they are attention whores. Once you buy one, you basically given your house to it..so it's no longer your house. You live in the cat's house now.

The big thing that some cats..at least MY cat needs is attention. I mean you can decide to to pay attention to them..it's just they will get revenge back on you. Trust me, don't mess with cats.

Well..that's just the downside of having a cat..and there's more @_@. Well..claws..you can declaw cats or not, but that's up to you.

Hm..I'd say get a cat..but you might go insane..I know I have..mine drives me crazy :crazy::crazy::crazy: but I love her :P

I've had my dog now ever since she was 6 weeks old, she's 7 now and never once gotten into anything she wasn't supposed to, and she's not dumb by any means. And using the "they might hurt themselves argument" is like saying "I'm never getting into a car cause I might get in an accident", it's just fuckin ridiculous and chances are it probably won't happen. A cat could hurt itself just as easily. Dogs aren't smart enough but cats are? What the fuck color is the sky in your world? Cats and dogs are similiar to humans in that some are smarter than others, they aren't all of the same intelligence, but generally speaking, dogs are smarter than cats.

Just..wow...

lol, this reminds me of when I was a kid and my two friends would argue "My Dog is so much cooler than your cat, and smarter too!"

Personally, I prefer cats because I like things quiet and I find that dogs are louder than cats.

Honestly if you don't want responsibility - get a fish, or no pet at all.

As for the greyhound thing, what Fellina said is true. They need jackets, booties, and all that jazz. My Sophie (Fast track train) has NO fur on her belly and they only have like 10-15% body fat, definitely desert dogs with the webbed feet for running on sand and everything.

No Fur

and PIRATE JAMMIES!

Overall really good dogs though, very quiet, very calm and probably sleep a good 15+ hours a day.

PS: Leaving a dog tethered in my city is illegal and it's cruel. You shouldn't be leaving your dog outside in a yard for days. My sister came home one day and her neighbor's dog had jumped over her fence and hung itself with the rope they had used to tie it in the backyard with.

Survival of the fittest. I don't really mind when stupid things die.
I know alot of farm dogs that live outside almost 24/7 and they're some of the coolest dogs I know. Animals are meant to be outside, how is leaving them outside cruel?

Oh and I can see clothes to keep them warm and stuff but pirate jammies? That's fuckin cruel.

Considering I live in Canada and need a blanket IN MY HOUSE to keep warm downstairs - it'd be cruel not to keep her in jammies in the winter. What else are you going to do when she's shivering?

Friggin pirate puppy jammies are awesome. I'd put some on my Sophie (boxer/american bull mix- extremely short hair and bare tummy) but she'd fucking eat them >_>;

Thanks for all your advice and suggestions.

After a week of researching all my options, I decided to adopt a guinea pig. They are tiny, adorable, and because I'm adopting it, super duper cheap.

I got these grid things for his cage online (also very cheap), so as long as they arrive before I pick him up next week, all should be well.

I'll post pictures when I pick him up next week.

No Emperor Scorpian? You bastard, my idea was the best. You'll be sorry when all the hot womens come over and you have no excuse to turn all the lights off and show em something really cool(that's the line I use anyway).

I'm pretty sure I'm afraid of scorpions.

Yay :D

What kind of Guinea pig? Long hair?

And congrats :)

short hair. he's a few months old, mostly white with some brown. apparently one of his eyes is smaller than the other.

Sounds adorable, I demand pics!

Congrats on your new family member :)
