Looking for some NIN Advice...

Eh, I posted this in the Quests - Missions - Guides forum, but apparently no one goes in there.

I've decided that while I've got plenty of money saved up (from my Scorpion Harness savings), I should level NIN from 33-40 so that I can use it for 40-cap stuff. So I'm gonna buy my Ni spells (Tonko, Utsusemi, and the elementals, anyway), and all the equipment I'll need. Here's what I'm planning to use as of yet:

Main Weapon: Kodachi +1, Ohaguro at 39, Zushio at 40
Sub Weapon: Centurion's Sword or Strider Sword, maybe Republic Sword at 34
Ranged: Chakram, Junior Musketeer's Chakram at 40
Head: Emperor Hairpin
Neck: Spike Necklace
Earrings: Dodge Earring x2
Body: Strong Vest, Silver Mail +1 at 36, Jujitsu Gi at 40
Hands: Federation Tekko (not gonna get Horomusha or Ochiudo's Kote; they are too expensive to bother with for something I'm only leveling to 40 )
Rings: Reflex Ring and Balance Ring, replace Balance with Venerer Ring at 34, replace Reflex Ring with Alacrity Ring at 36, replace Alacrity Ring with Sniper's Ring at 40
Back: Nomad's Mantle
Waist: Warrior's Belt +1, Survival Belt at 38
Legs: Kingdom Trousers, Royal Squire's Breeches at 40
Feet: Winged Boots

What I'm looking for is opinions on anything that would be better for me than any of the things I've listed (i.e. Strider Sword or Centurion's Sword). I'm also wondering if I should just use Sword on my main hand for better damage, considering I'm only taking this to 40. Also, would the Mithra RSE boots be better for me than Winged Boots (their stats are DEF:5 HP+16 STR+3 CHR+2)? And what food would be best for me?

Any input would be much appreciated.

I might recommend using the Mithra RSE gloves for the +4 VIT when you're actually getting hit (use euqipment swap macros to put on the tekko when you've got shadows up and the RSE when they're down). For feet, I think the winged boots are best - +3 DEX vs +3 STR on the DD end, plus they give +3 AGI for more evasion. If you didn't already have winged boots I'd recommend against getting them and go with the cheaper RSE. As for Ochiudo's Kote... maybe you could find someone to loan them to you long enough to level NIN?

On a side note, if you need a scroll of Utsu: Ni, my BCNM static is doing the mandy BCNM tonight, if we get a drop I can try to hook you up with it.

Ochiudo seems like a no-no for nin, eva -5 sucks. Already you arent boosting eva much.

Ochi Kote is a double bladed sword for a ninja... It allows them to keep hate better... however the -5 evasion is not fun. However, if you have alot of + eva gear and are good with you shadows and have ichi and ni then they can be worth it.
