Not only that, he have weird pathing. You could probably kite him without getting hit in full dusk <.<

Well, tbh, I think they're planing to duo him on BLM. I've never personally fought Genbu as BLM, so I'm not sure what his resist rates are like on BLM, so its possible Bind and Gravity would be hard to stick.

I'm thinking their strategy is the following:


BLMes keep DoT's on together, and they play thug-o-war with hate. One BLM nuke, thus ending up having hate, and kite Genbu. After some time, the second BLM nukes, thus possibly ending up with hate unless resisted, and kite as well, in order to let the other BLM buff up and w/e.

My question, though, is how you plan on handling MP issues. You'd need to bring several Yagudo drinks and ethers. I'd also like to know whether or not you plan on subbing /NIN or /RDM. I do think neither of you have RDM lvled, correct?

That wouldn't work very well, though. Kiting around the bush means he'll cast -ga spells, which means you'll need a high amount of haste and fast cast gear in order to get your stun timer down enough to stun all of them. and if you don't sub NIN, that means single target spells could hit you as well. Not only that, the BLM /heal could pull hate from /healing.
 
We are hoping to have a relic bard for refresh. And he is going /nin and I'm going /rdm. I don't really feel like going full on into our strat. But we'd both feel safer with gaiters, hes already found a pair to borrow and I'm willing to put up the gil to borrow a set.
 
I dont have a pair of gaiters, but i'd be willing to give you a piggy back ride while you fight. We'd go as fast as like, 2 tarus!
 
Actually, I can see the gaiters being wanted as I believe Genbu has increased range on -aga apells...

I had them on my 75 fully merited blm. Then I woke up.
 
You can Aspir every minute. Why wouldn't that work by stacking +dark gear? I think I've aspired over the cost of the spell many times.

And then make a referal to collateral damage. Wich would lead to Arnold Schwarzeneger. Pretty soon he is having us think that Odon is Arnold in disguise. Or that Arnold is Odon in disguise. But dude, im totally on to you.
Cant get stuff like that passed the swedes.

And yes Hm, but its dangerous to rely on something to 100% while duoing or soloing something like Genbu. You need to have a Plan B in case it doesn't go as expected.

It's a menage et trois with that in there.

Good luck with the attempt, but even if just for Refresh that BRD negates this being a duo IMO.

If you can't do this without gaiters you really shouldn't even be thinking of doing it.

He runs at nigh on gravity speed, and the only spell he can manage to launch on you will be bio and drown. Everything else can be stunned and out ran easily.

Kiting around the bushes is an excellent strategy, using the teleporting areas to put extra distance between you and him if he starts casting AM or something. You can easily get AM2 off before he even reaches you, and since you'll be going sub RDM (although I'd choose sub WHM for bio in a duo situation) there isn't even a chance he'll get remotely close.

Having one person sub NIN and one sub RDM will be, in my eyes, useless. The NIN will have a harder time gaining hate due to the significantly reduced MP pool and lack of fast cast, however close the two INT statistics are.

In short, stop thinking that Genbu is harder than he actually is. He's a pussy and I could probably solo him if I had a pop set and didn't mind wasting a few K for yagudo drinks and a few hours of my life.
