i already have Diploma in computer programing here on saudi , and few experience in PL/SQL and Oracle Forum /Report builder

sadly we don't have Magister degree here
can you recommend any college or University in US for computer programing / sciences ?

MIT (Massachusetts institute of Technology)

Washington University at St. Louis (I'm planning on going here next year, we could be hardcore bros!)

Georgia Tech University

Just off the top of my head, these are some of the best in the country.

Georgia Tech was the first one that popped into my head tbh

If I could be honest, Computer Science degrees are dime a dozen. You can go to some "top shelf" schools and get a great education and your "ticket punched" with some nice credentials (but that's a whole different thread ;) ). Personally, I'd recommend you shop your schools by culture first, then their academia. The US is geographically and culturally diverse, so I'd match up a school & region that works best for you. For example, if you're a city person, your probably better off in UCLA (University of California, Los Angeles) rather than Ole Miss (University of Mississippi). If you're devout, or want to continue to be plugged in to your current culture, your decision will be even more important. Much more can be said here, but I think you probably get the idea.

College is more than an education, it's an experience. You have the opportunity to form bonds with people and organizations that you can leverage for success down the road. A little planning will help you make the best of it.

Also, if you're looking at top shelf schools like MIT, I'd take a few of their classes. While you won't get credit for them, they're free. They are actual courses that are (or were) taught, so you can get a feel for what the level of study you'll be facing. Find the courses at MIT's Open Courseware site: ocw.mit.edu/

Best of luck!

thanks to everyone advises , i already apply to some college and university , just need to get my O.K from time , for time being iam retaking the TOFEL exams and getting my passport ready

I have a close friend from abroad who's studying right now in the US, so I can speak a little bit on personal experience. There are only so many slots each postgraduate program is allowed to give out to foreign students.

I believe this is because it's connected to the student visa program, and I think there are a limited number of those given out each year. The application process for the foreign student program can be as rigorous as the process to get into the school itself, and even if you're qualified, they might not have the space for you to get in.

My friend was coming from India, so there was a ton of competition. You might not face as much coming from Saudi, but it's something you should probably look into. It would suck to get accepted to a school, only to find out that there are no more slots in a particular program for an international student.

If you end up anywhere in the middle of the country, you better come and visit, Dayner =P

We all wish you luck Dayner.

If you are accepted, remember you will usually be assigned an academic adviser. Stay close to him/her and it will make your college experience flow with significantly less bumps. In your Junior / Senior years, it is very important that you follow up with your college career services center. A lot of them have direct employers who hire exclusively from specific universities and they can help you find an internship which may lead to a full time job pending performance. With the lay offs impacting the integrity rate of US employment it's better to let someone else make your resume, prepare you for interviews and have you situated in an employment position (it's their job and they're very good at it).

Best hopes!
