So my choco (Purple Male) got freaky with Nomar's choco (Black Female) and now the female is love sick and won't even eat. Anyone know what to do about this? Do we need to put em together again or will the female get over it?

Apparently my choco is a heartbreaker, so watchout ladies...

The fact that the chocobo is lovesick has nothing to do with the fact that you arranged for it to breed. The "lovesick" status ailment is happening all over the place right now, and mostly to people who have never arranged for a Chocodate.

It happened to mine, in fact, and I've never arranged for breeding. Your chocobo and Nomar's may have gotten together, but the "lovesick" status is almost definitely not over Nomar's chocobo.

I'm sure there's something you're meant to do during this time, but breeding is probably not it ... it hasn't helped anyone with the "lovesick" status, and that makes a great deal of sense. Just because you're in love with someone in particular, after all, doesn't mean you're going to feel any better by banging a complete stranger your parents set up for you, right?

No, for the most part, this has just been wearing off on its own. It lasted only one day on mine, and I got the "everything is back to normal" message after that. I took no action that I wouldn't otherwise have done throughout the course of my normal care day.

It's been lasting two or three days for other people, and lots of folks are trying to figure out what to do with it, but so far we've discovered:

1) Cupid worm does nothing.
2) Breeding does nothing, even with a partner the chocobo has already bred with.
3) Exercising in a group does nothing.

All you can do is wait for it to go away, at this point.

Actually, breeding could be the thing. Patch notes said that theres points in time where breeding will be more effective(Transfer of stats/color I assume)

I'm going to laugh if choco's can be oriented either way. I'd laugh even harder if ... well, n'mind lol

This would indeed make sense, but I still can't see the logic in a random one-nighter with a stranger alleviating a heartsick pining over one person.

Then again, maybe I can. o_O

To the OP: It says that they aren't eating, but I think thats just basic plan automeals. They still eat food you manually feed them.

I'm not saying it will cure the effect. But just like Perky/Zest for life events affecting the activities you do with your chocobo in a more positive way, love sick could increase breedings results as far as heriditary traits go. The notes clearly say theres times when breeding will be more effective, this is probably it.

Then again, we arent oversized chickens in a medieval fantasy world ruled by Shadowlords and plauged by dragons.

Now are we?

So basically, "love sick" is SE's way of saying "This chocobo is extremely horny, and want to fuck"

Um...yeah, actually. Its just they want to breed and pass on genes. Its not a injury or negative condition (is sex a "condition"?), it should just go away on its own...kinda like noobs.

Mine has been love sick for days now, at least four but it may be longer. I tried breeding it thinking that would work but it didn't do anything. I got the egg from breeding but can't really do anything with it unless I want to retire this chocobo. I tried scolding it yesterday as well and today it's still love sick =|. So, I've tried all of the above ideas and nothing worked. Anyone have any new ideas or learned something more about it?

Maybe if your chocobo called Nomar's once in a while and said some nice things, she'd be less lovesick. Poor girl probably feels like a whore.

Yeah, mines been love sick for 5 days now, hoping it ends when the day for her refreshes in two hours.

It's really fucking stupid they decided to make it count as an actual illness, so you can't raise affection through watching over it.

after 9 days of love sick she finally snaped out of it.
