Tokopekko wildgrass had nothing to do with helping your chocobo, Aaleel. The fact that the lovesickness wore off at the same time was utter coincidence. Toko grass is for physical illness.
The whole lovesickness thing has been the source of a lot of frustrated headaches in the chocobo-raising community. For the longest time, nobody could figure out what to do about it ... or whether or not to do anything at all. The status certainly does seem to register as an illness in terms of the kinds of messages you get when interacting with it, although the notion that some people have that lovesickness somehow interferes with affection-raising is complete bunk (this comes from people who neglect their affection rating as a rule anyway).
After a lot of strife and confusion, however, the best "solution" to this problem has indeed finally been meshed out, and the difficulty in finding it is very understandable when one realizes how
UNintuitive it was. Also, the news on the solution has been very slow getting out. It's no mere rumor or speculation, however ... I've used it twice myself.
There are actually three known ways to rid yourself of the lovesickness status ailment.
Option 1) Do nothing. It will wear off on its own, be it in one day or 20.
Option 2) Feed it a very expensive celerity salad.
Option 3) Or, the method that has finally (and very recently) been proven to work, and is (in my opinion) the most reliable way -- set your care plan to "Interact with other chocobos." It shouldn't take more than two days.
Most people already know about options 1 and 2 ... anyone who doesn't frequently visit a certain thread at the Allakhazam forums, however, seem to be largely in the dark about Option 3.
