While my nice shiny monk made it to 31 alright, I am cursed in trying to raise my subjobs, because the usual zones are now severely overcrowded with similar lowbie characters.

Do a "/sea Valkurm." At any given time I'm seeing over 200 people in that zone, sometimes 8 parties lvl 10-14 competing against lizard/gob spawns. The Qufim canyon, where you meet the homepoint guard (provided beastmen aren't ruling), will often have over 4 parties and 40 people packed in there, going after worms and snippers. And I've heard similar stories about the Kazham jungles. So what's the point in having the "best leveling spots" if you're always waiting on mob spawns and dodging IT trains coming back from the zoneline?

I want to know what some of your favorite alternative leveling places are, and I'll share a few of mine.

Lvl 15-19/20: Korroloka Tunnel
Some of you know this already, but try leading a party here to level against the worms. They're way easier than anything Valkurm has to offer for these levels. To get there, zone from Bastok Mines into Zeruhn Mines and talk to a guard by the gate at the first intersection, and he will let you enter Korroloka. It helps to bring a WHM or RDM with Silence.

Lvl 25-30: Batallia Downs
Anyone remember this zone? You know, where all us NA Release players leveled before we knew about Kazham? If you can put an experienced party together, it's still great exp! Also, the Eldieme Necropolis bunkers make zoning an easy option. Lvl 25-27 can be earned pulling Sabretooth Tigers in the bunker closest to Jugner, and the rest of your levels can be earned at I-10 fighting against upper tier gobbies. We also made a tradition of having the party 2-hour an Evil Weapon before we left for the night. :P

Right now, I'm looking for some good level 10-15, 20-25 options aside from the usual places. What's worked well for you?

when i log on its about 9 pm, but its usually between 12-3 for u guys, so is not really that crowded for me :D

well my trick is to sit down for 5 minutes let my mage self be called to a party and then if we don't get in a fight within 10 minutes I leave and find another. Eventually you will get an effective one.

(also... only start your 10 minute timer once the party is full)

I would love to level in places other than the 'popular' zones. The problem is finding a PT and getting them to that area. The only PTs I've seen that seem to want to level outside of places like Valkurm, Qufim, and Yuhtunga/Yhoator Jungle are JP PTs, and those tend to be hard to find unless you're playing at a really late hour. I have a question, though: does anyone know of an alternate place to level from 30-33? I really don't wanna go back to Yhoator Jungle... : /

For those levels, you can take a party further into Korroloka and all the way out to the other side, where you can fight against Beetles in Eastern Altepa Desert. Just be warned that these are IT+ for level 30's, which means you can get 200 exp points a fight provided you have a well-balanced party with updated gear, eating foods, and organizing skillchains and magic bursts. If needed, you can raise TP on some of the nearby spiders first. Just avoid the aggroing Anticans, unless you have a very smart WHM who can stay out of range of their AoE Silence attack.
