Hopefully I can get some good feedback from everyone. For the longest I have always sub'd WAR and sometimes THF. Now I have a lvl'd WHM sub also. I think, if used correctly, DRG/WHM has pretty good potential. I know its much better past lvl 60 but....i'm only 52 for now XDDD

So, If you have ever had a DRG/WHM around lvl 50 in your pty before.....did things go pretty well? Was it better than that DRG/WAR you always have in your pty during those rare times that you actually do have a DRG in your pty?

Also, for you experianced DRG/WHM's out there, what do you think of this equip set up for my lvl?

Head: Valk Mask
Body: lvl 50 JSE
Hand: RSE
Feet: RSE
Finger: Electrum Ring (x2)
Earring: Beetle Earring +1 (x2)
Back: Wolf Mantls +1
Neck: Promise Badge (does MND affect the breath of the wyvern?)
Leg: AF
Waist: Life Belt
Weapon: Mythril Lance / Dark Staff

I wanted to try to have a decent MP pool yet keep around a bit of my attack power. I'm kinda worried about my sacrifice in accruacy......should I go back to battle gloves? I dont really want to mess with sniper rings but that could end up happening. But what if I never do get sniper rings, or the new rings btw?

I'm really dying for some advice here so please no flames. I'm just trying to be the best DRG I can be ^^ Thanks in advance for any help you can give or feedback.

Oh, and for food I was thinking of using Sole Sushi so I can actually have some pretty good accuracy unless yall think I should stick with rolanberry pies.

Well, from what I've read, the only thing that affects the Wyvern's healing breath is its max HP, so anything that boosts that is good, and you've got all the equip for that available.

If you're worried about Accuracy, pick up a Verner Ring (140k?, Lv.34, Accuracy+3), and just wait to swap it in until after you've used up those 20 MP (Or skip that second Electrum until you need the extra 20 MP for Raise). Back equip should probably be Jaeger Mantle (60k?, Lv.47, Attack+3, Evasion+1), since you really don't need the elemental resists unless you're getting hit with -ga spells for some reason.

Besides that, the equip looks good.

Sole Sushi is really expensive, but it's up to you. Carry both would be my reccomendation, if it turns out you need Pie's MP, use 'em.

No. Being a Drg/Whm is not a wise choice in exp pt. Healing Breath only occurs when your pt's hp is around red or yellow.

At this lvl, before lvl 68 i think, you might want ti full the wyvern full potential rather than to just let it fly around your head irritating you like a fly and not do damage breaths.

DRG/whm is good for solo-ing and support missions only. Not in exp pt. In my opinion, you should always try to find ways obtaining TP fast. So it is best for you to increase accuracy and SJ WAR for Double Attack. If you can keep up with your SC partner without Double Attack, then use Thief as another SJ.

So yea, don't waste your wyvern potential in making damage.
P.S. I tried Drg/Whm accidentally; 70Drg/21Whm in Dragon's Aery rofl and was quite funny. Drewtaru i think was the blm if i can recall properly and yea, my wyvern did some spell to remove Drew's bad status.

Thanks for the info guys, if i can get some more responses that would be great. I'm sure there has been some drg/whms in somebodys exp party before.....if so....how did it go?

Not a flame but....

I can tell you as a person who frequently builds exp parties, I would NEVER ask a DRG/WHM. Even if I was one person short, and you were the only one looking. I would roll with 5, until I found a suitable 6th.

You loose the increased STR and TP gain of a melee. And offer far less than a WHM or RDM can offer as far as healing. I don't see where this is beneficial for exp parties ^^;

Well, my dmg is nerfed some but I can spend 7mp to cure someone with the strength of a cure 3 and I have about 182 MP with a Dark Staff to use to rest up MP quickly during pulls. Either way, its not like this is my only DRG sub, I have a WAR and THF sub with equip to use for exp parties. I mean, unless you've actually had a drg/whm in your pty you can really "assume" exactly how everything will turn out. If someone has something negative to say I would really like to hear it from someone who has seen this combo in action.

And if this combo doesnt really work well in parties I'll just go back to doing DRG/WAR untill I reach lvl 60 then i'll just solo with DRG/WHM.

Well Brinno, I tried DRG/RDM before, in my 30's I believe....35 If I remember correctly, though subbing RDM was an accident.

Anyhow, THe party went well, but due to the fact that we had a good healer, not once did we need healing breath. I think DRG/WHM would be viable with the right setup however. If you're (for some odd reason) a party with a RDM, DRK, RNG, PLD, WAR, and there aren't any mages looking, perhaps DRG/WHM would make a good backup healer. But in normal party circumstances it's not so much that it wouldn't work, as it wouldn't really have a point.

The best bet is probably to list your SJ's in your search comment, so they know you have it available, and see how things work out.

here's a thought though, for a static. I've always wondered the viability of an all DRG party. The varying subs could make things interesting, as you would fill in quite a few normal party roles. This would probably only be effective post AF helm though, otherwise it's way to risky. Just somethin to think about.

yeah. drg/whm is really only good for solo'ing. i have a vid of a drg/whm solo'ing the sea horror :D but hey amn, don't let me stop you from doing what you want to do. personally, i think drg/whm is a very sweet combo. just don't expect a lot of invites. war is usually what parties want youy to sub, especially if there's a thf. the thf pulls, you take first voke, the thf SATA's onto the pld and all that good stuff. but once again, do what you want to do man. i've been proven wrong more than once

Yea, I've pretty much mastered how to play DRG/WAR and /THF seeing how i've done it for almost a year. Like Lecan said, it would be in my best intrest to list all sub jobs. I wonder if anyone has even taken in account the new DRG JSE for lvl 50? It increases wyvern HP by a good bit which means Healing Breath is buffed up....by....a really good bit. I'd really like to see how that works out. Regardless.....I guess I'll just be a pioneer in this venture and luckily I have other subs to lean back on with freakin awsome equip for my other subs so i'm not to worried about being out of luck with not having the /whm sub work for me.

Actually, DRG ptys do work pretty well. I've heard of a DRG/WAR, DRG/WHM, and DRG/WHM pty'ing before.....not on our server of course...seeing how DRG isnt cared about as much ; ;

Well, regardless of it was positive or negitive feedback, I thank you all for your responses.

I'm sure people will love you for switching to darkstaff and losing your tp.

I often play, just messin around, as a DRG/BLM. Only difference is I have offensive spells. From what I've seen, it's not good for a party. and the whole, having a dark staff, would kill all party invites I think, because you'd lose tp. I mean, hey, keep it in yer comment, maybe someone will say "Hey, can you sub whm?" but I doubt it. for myself though, I stick with DRG/SAM if I can.... über dmg.....lol DRG/WAR is often the pick though.

Now now Euphacent, be nice. If he was looking for sarcasm I'm sure he would have taken it to the flameboard.

I end the fight with a WS usually and already have close to nil TP anyway. I dont think it would make much differance to switch to a dark staff for like 30 seconds.

there used to be a vid out there of a 67drg/whm solo'ing the sea horror. i have it on my comp but no way to share it  made me see the drg/whm combo in a completely new light
