[M] JP/NA crap

I'm really really sick of hearing about how JP players "look down on the NA" and how GMs help them but not us. People! It's been a year....think you have just sucked it up by now. While reading all this Roofie crap I noticed "People like you are why the JP look down on us NA players."
And all this stuff about racist GMs...
Facts
1) This game, was in fact, out in Japan 1st
2) We have very different cultures, there's bound to be some clashing
3) Assholes are everywhere!
4) The JP player population are not gods. Once we have the game for 2+ years, we'll be lookin about the same.
5) (this one isn't solid but....) The GMs dont seem to do shit no matter who you are.

I think that this whole additude of "The Jp think they're better than us" only keeps all the bullshit flowing. Please....it's not a contest, it's not a war....it's a game, and it's fun, playing wtih JP NA or EU shouldn't matter, the only realy problem is the language barrier and a shitty translator....
I get a lot more crap from fellow NA than I do JP. I like JP PTs for one simple fact, they are polite.

I remember when I started the game, and I got into a few JP PTs, I did my to impress them....I look back on it and ask why? What makes them special? Nothing, they are the same as you and me. Weeks later I figured it out, I got a JP PT, and 3 of them sent tells asking me if the exp was going fast enough.....

Other than problems with talking, about random bullshit (jokes, stories,etc) you can find everything you need for missions etc in that crappy translator, there shouldn't be this additude that we're competeing....we should be helping each other....
 
Added: Yea some JP hate us, but some NA hate them....I'm speaking of a general additude, not individuals.
 
Assholes are assholes...There's a few "NA" on this board that can prove it.

I must say that I do my best usually to be courteous(sp?) to people in general. I try to be extra polite when I pt with the japanese players (JP I find seems offensive) because I try to be respectful of their culture, which is poilite (most of the time). I don't know why people have to give shit to others because they are different, try bending a little to accepting other for what they are unless you have a steel rod up your ass(flameboard required this sentence).
 
Sorry to drag this up...but uh....reading all this racist crap from Roofie....I dunno....I can't stand stupid bullshit like that.
 
Not to go off disagree with all that has been said, but just because you ignore a problem doesn't make it go away. To be honest I didn't realize how bad it was until I played BRD. To explain...

OK, I'm sitting in my mog house seeking, i'm a rank 10 tarutaru bard, and I just spent 400k buying a military. I am invited to a Japanese party, I accept(as brd I'm invited to quite a few). What most people will agree with, is when they are invited to a Japanese party, they are the 6th member. This is true because they will get as many Japanese as possible, and invite NA when no alternative choices are available. Well as I'm a BRD, they were willing to snatch me up quickly, I was like the third member. They didn't invite any other NA, I noticed. I thought it seemed kind of unfair, to simply invite the high demand jobs if you're not gonna take any other jobs. We must all agree here just out of experience the odds of an NA Bard joining a Japanese party are high but the reverse is low. I felt a little used. I wanted to be treated equally shitty on all jobs.
Well the first thing they ask me is, do I have Magic Finale. For those who don't know, the military harp is the instrument for increase of finale. It's 400k, they just asked me if I have the song itself, which is like.. .5k. Well I said yes, but I was a little annoyed. Obviously they have encountered many underequipped NA, but my monster signa is quite visible and it is not cheap.
Well the second thing I noticed, was they gave me commands like.. Minut, Madrigal, Ballad. I couldn't believe it. They obviously had the confidence in me as that of a small child. Why don't they just tell my paladin "Provoke, ok?" It was humiliating. They were very polite, and obviously didn't have any antagonism towards me, but they didn't have any confidence either. Their requests weren't like "Can you hit Ninja with Mambo?"(which I did anyway) or Spirited Etude on the WHM. They were the basic bread and butter BRD songs that I've never seen any bard not use.

So yeah, if you want to go on about how it's just a clash of societies or that there's no real problem, I'm just gonna call you out on it, it's not true. I don't hate the Japanese, to be honest my closest friend in game is one. But she also recognizes there's a lot of problems going on.

Blatent racism? Sometimes. They have their Japanese Roofies too. Do Japanese avoid NA, yep sometimes. Do high ranks avoid low ranks sometimes, that as well. People look for every little bit of information they can to determine if their party member is going to be deadweiht. Unfortunately the E flag seems to drop us all down 5 or so ranks in many of their eyes. I don't believe just waiting 2 years or whatever you think is going to change this. Or maybe it can't be changed. I don't really know the solution. I just try to do my best to do my job well and leave it at that.

Note: I also hate it sometimes when Japanese are amazed that I do well. Because it just shows the stigma that in their eyes we don't do well usually. It's like the stigma that black people(or african american) are often thieves. If I was black I don't think I'd be too terribly happy about someone telling me, "thanks for not stealing my stuff!" It's just blatently offensive, and it's the same to me.

Note: The solution is not the run around cursing out Japanese. It's also important to note every single one of them don't represent their entire society's opinion, just like Roofie doesn't represent us. I don't know what the solution is, other than to simply recognize we are playing there game. And it's good to make NA look good, but you shouldn't feel like you are responsible for the actions of other NA. Don't know, it's just complicated. I feel sometimes like to stop whatever explosion of anger is going to come out eventually is like trying to stop a cannonball with a piece of paper.
 
Japan has been closed minded for centuries. They were called isolated country for a reason. Although it is begining to change, many is still remaining in that mindset it is very difficult to change. Usually kids, fall into this category. But there are some who accepts, such as decidence and I were once in the same shell, not a single one of them refuses deci's presence or further more, the first NA person who welcomed in the shell who were known as Godpoing. These people are mature, knows to understand each other and try to be open minded. While some people simply refuses to change their way. I bet the same can be said to the NA people or any other people who are not JP.

Accept them and they will accept you is my mind set. Although some try to accept others but if other refuses it will never work out. Cut off with those who don't accept you as an individual, and accept them for those who accept you. Things will get less frustrating this way. I have seen many roofie like JP during my years in FFXI. Clearly I have seen more things in a negative way about my people when I started playing FFXI. Since before in EQ and UO also in Diablo I was playing with many Euro, NA, Asian people who accepted each other. The racial comments some JP people states about the NA and Euro people disgusts me, and saddens me at the same time it is comming from the mouth of my own kind.
 
Even though its never gonna change... I honestly feel SE should have made NA specific servers instead of molding them together. Too much conflict as a result of it.
 
just because a few of u speak jap so the japs tolerate u doesnt mean a god damn thing, they still hate us whether or not u want to admit it, so take ur head out of ur ass, look at all the search comments that say English No Thanks. fucking retards, excuse me for stating the truth
 
Lol Roofie the JP players may hate you but i dont know about everyone else.. ive been talking so a few of my jp friends and they said that the only reason why NA players are put as a last resort on there eye's is because they dont have alot of resepect. and also most of them have had bad experiances with NA players so they think thats for all of us. But some JP ppl know that it's not all of us. So we just need to work on the communication and everything to work out. SE didnt want NA players and JP players have like a racist war or something against eachother. they thought that it would be good for 2 different cultures or more to get to know eachother..

Nope, they hate YOU, just you... just like the NA's and even us Australians...
 
I had some Australian's come to my school, in Canada couple weeks back to play some ball. They had a 6 foot 9 guy :O:O.. I'm a mere 6'4. When he walked in, he had to bend over to get through the door..
 
It's a big island of criminals and miscreants Austrailia is. :wink: :p
