i'm wondering the decideing factor's of aspir. knowing 1 and the most important being dark magic skill, but dose Magic attack bonus as well as INT effect how much MP is drained?

I beleive magic attack only influences nukes (elemental magic + banish 1,2,3)
Aspir just saps it from the enemy, not a direct attack.

always seemed random to me, the only things I see affecting aspir or drain are Dark Magic skill, Dark/Pluto Staff, Diabolo's Staff, weather and luck.

well, it DOES effect Drain, atleast from my experience, although it might just be the randomness of it kicking in, but I have NO idea if it affects Aspir. Anyone knows the Drain/Aspir formulae for damage? <.<; The randomness suggests it doesn't have one, but that can not be the case XD

Doesn't sound to much SquareEnix to be mostly random.
It's most definetly a very complicated formula considering weather/day/stats/age/skincolor/nationality/gender/mood/stamina/age and what you had for breakfast.

depend on mob to but im sure it has something to do with it

think i'ma try some tests on worms or something, see if the INT down debuff w/e it's called plays any factor in it

It seems to me the more Int I have, the higher the damage cap is.

At lvl 50 or so when I didn't get resisted, I'd get 125-150 with capped dark magic.

Now at 75, I do 200-230 when i don't get resisted. And my dark magic is still 6 lvls below cap.

I'f the opinion that dark magic determines your resist rate and int determins the cap on the amount drained/aspired. I haven't performed any trials to figure this out, so by no means is it proven.

Its if the GM watching over you feels like giving you more mp from it then you used for the spell :P

Aspir Cost 10... Drain? 21.

Drain usually has the best Damage to MP ratio of any spell I cast, and I usually get 100 or so with aspir on ITs.

yup... 300 damage from a spell that costs 21 MP is amazing. That's like casting freeze with an MP cost of about 90 or so <.<; <.<;
