Magical Critical Hit

I've looked all over and asked, but no one have ever been able to provide me with an answer.

As I mostly play on WHM, and do not feel like wasting gil on something I might not have any need for, I thought I'd ask here in case anyone have Wise Strap or Witch Sash and could provide me with some insight.

Are Cure spells able to score a critical hit with either of these two items equipped? Every time I've asked, people have simply either answered with "I don't know", or haven't answered at all. As Cure is a magic spell, I would assume so, but for all I know it could only count for elemental spells.

So, any of you with said items know, or could try and see, if it works on Cure spells as well?

It shouldn't because Magic Crit = % chance of adding a 10 MAB boost to nukes. And MAB doesn't affect cures.

Could hypothetically also have % chance of adding more cure potency, you'd never see it if it was only tested on nukes. If it was tested and proven false, then definitive answer that way as well.

just because it says Magic Crit doesn't neccesarily mean it is exclusive to nukes. Wouldn't be hard to give a 10% m. att. bonus AND a 10% Cure Potency bonus to it. Just because it is one doesn't automatically exclude the other. Can't say "It won't work on Cures" without testing it, can you?

Which is why I ask if anyone have ever tried, or know of anyone that have tried.

My dilemma is that the ONLY reason I would buy it, is if it works on Cures. Otherwise I see no real practical use for it except for BLM, which I rarely play.

MAB does affect cure when healing undeads, but idk if it works in this case. Anyway I own the sash but rarely see the critical proc on nukes (hi2u 2% rate w/e stat it is). I did a test once casting 40 times and didn't see anyhting happen. Anyway even if it works it's useless for cures.

Thing is, the difference between Penitent and Witch Sash would be -4 Enmity versus +2% Critical Hit in that case. So Witch Sash would be better for all cures except Cure IV, but ONLY if it can proc on Cures.

I've had WS for about 2 months now, I usually pay attention to how much my cures do, I've never noticed anything out of the ordinary. Only on offensive nukes while the proc rate is really low, it's noticeable. However, nothing on cures.

You didn't crit with nukes until Witch's Sash/Strap either.
