To explain more about my subject. My xbox 360 is connected to my computer which has a wireless router. The router is in another room. My xbox is telling me that my NAT type is on moderate and that it needs to be on open so I can join certain games or talk to people.

The instructions I have found to fix it. I have a Linksys router btw.

Put in the IP address and everything in my xbox manually.

Enable DMZ in Applications and Gaming.

Go to Port Forwarding in Advanced Routing.

Put in 87, 88, 89 UDP - 3073, 3074, 3075 UDP & TCP. Put in xbox last digits.

Do the same step for UPnP.

Is there anything I should or shouldn't do? Or something else I should do.. Please help.

you only need port 88 and 3074, i have no idea why someone would have you put in those other ones lol.
Not sure if DMZ is required as ive never had mine activated and my xbox has always been open with my current settings.
You put those in port forwarding, i dont think u need them in uPnP either.

Your router manufacturer can tell you specifically what you need to do to open your NAT on that specific router. Just give their 800 number a ring, they get these calls all the time.

Don't bother dealing with xbox live support or you ISP's support, they will just keep telling you it's not their fault, talk to one or the other.

DMZ is generally a "last resort" method.

Dependin' on the router you really shouldn't have to open any ports at all unless it is ancient, and even then, they'll have a patch specifically for XBL usually, I know my old Linksys did. Every time I've looked at routers recently they'll have a seal on the statin' they're XBL compatible, though all are, you just wont have to open ports with these. I'd make sure all your software is up to date on the router before anything. Lynksys is pretty good with keepin' up with XBL so there is no doubt in my mind you either need to update the router or you've closed somethin' off yourself or someone in your house did.
