I wish people wouldn't try to be such hardasses. "Everything is fair game." "You moved, someone came in, stop -obscenities- you little -vulgarites-, talk to someone who -indifference- cares."
I understand the mentality; and in cold technicality, it's true. But come on, I'd like to think the people I play this game with wouldn't be as quick to adopt such barbaric pragmatism. A handicap spot is open, and, "Their fucking loss," you'd say as you nonchallantly pull into it. Nobody likes an ass. And nobody thinks it's cool.
"It's just a game," I'm sure to hear, but then why do you take it so seriously with this kill or be killed mentality? I understand this necessity in things like HNMs, but something so trivial as a camp? Really people, try to be more compassionate - In and out of the game. Some people on this forum, I would genuinely fear to encounter in a dark, or even dimly lit, alley.
In regards to this situation, to be blunt, I don't think they should have been so quick to take the pudding camp. I don't think they should have been there at all, really. Conversely, I know they probably didn't have any mal intent. I've partied with Ara a good bit there (in relation to how often I get on, anyway), and he's a good guy. I respect that he didn't come in here demanding that we BLMs get our spot or that we DESERVE special consdieration, he was just questioning the state of mind.
The fact is melee have a FAR broader spectrum of potential camps, and if they moved in because trolls were too hard, perhaps they should have thought ahead. Maybe it was their first time? Yeah, that's alright. They don't have to go somewhere else, but what does it hurt them to? Some time? Who's more hindered, them, or the BLMs who lost one of their limited camps? "BLMs can go somewhere else," and Ara found a spot, and that's great, but there's not a lot of other places to go. If something like that happens to me, I always try to talk to the other party involved if things escalate.
