Hey guys, I needed a little advice, With gillsellers getting pretty vicious nowadays and everything I was wondering what everyone farms for gil? I mean, everyones always telling me to go do BCNM's but I only have so many seals, when those run out what then? I know the usual ones, beastmans blood, silk, and tree cuttings but is there anything else other than those and NM's? I'm just wondering because I'm usually dirt poor and I have extremely bad luck with NM's so traditional farming is my only real option. Thanks in advance for the tips.

but i dont think too many will be open and willing to reveal their gil making methods to keep the market down in their section of sales.
 
Take a look at some of the really common synths, and see if any of the materials are worth farming for. Do a little research into what items people want/need, and it should give you an idea of a good item to farm. You won't find an item that will sell for a huge amount most likely, but you should be able to find something that you'll be able to sell to make money.

At this point, the only way to get rich quick is to get lucky on an NM. Most other people make smaller amounts of money more often, it takes longer but it works.

Word. This topic keeps popping up and meets with similar fates each time.

Go do research. Stop being lazy. If you still have seals get to work, you're just being lazy. If you were actually completely out of options at this point, it might be different, but you've already stated you have seals and know some common farmables. The rest of the research needs to be done by you. Anyone else who tells you their methods is guaranteed telling you something you will have competition for (them), so you might as well be faarming the items you already stated, it's gonna be just as bad.

If you want more of a floating source of income, follow some GS around and compete with them on everything they do. If it wasn't a decent way to make some fast cash, they probably wouldn't be doing it themselves.
 
The three main money makers.

1. Synth
2. Farm
3. Nm's


That's it really. Pick your favoruites. I think theres about 10 mobs that drop things that are worth selling. (Not including ToAU).
 
some suggestions...

find a dependable guild market to jump back and forth from. like say flax flowers -> cloth, iron ore -> ingots, silver ore as well. but you cant stay on one thing too long because it's a craft lvl up item and prices will fall shortly.

or, charge for your time per say. by buying materials from AH, crafting, reselling product. ussally only nets between 20-100k profit depending on volume and demand. things such as ninja tools

buy high demand 1st place CP items then resell when your contry is in last.

sell your isp for coins works for a quick buck.


other profit comes from bc/ksnm's, sky/hnm ls's and HQ crafts, consumables
 
On the contrary.

I want as many people to go mining against the RMT Dybyeth and Flanna as I can get.

Annaarnold and Bertiecamp are RMT as well.

Besides, I make my money off of DS ingots. You have to put a lot of gil into smithing to be able to make those. The cap is 51 or 52.

Field/worker Tunica, gloves and Boots help a lot. You will break half as many picks while wearing that. You will be most effeciant with 60 inventory spaces, and a lvl 55+ job. You will not catch agro after 55 in gusgen.

If you are a ninja, take yer af boots with ya. If you can sub 25+ thf, flee helps. If you have any smithing/goldsmithing skill at all, that helps a ton.

You will need to make Brass ingots. If you can't make them, you are wasting your time. If you can make Iron ingots, that helps too. If you can make DS ingots, you know how to do this already and don't need my help.

thanks to everyone for their advice^^ I'll look into the synthing thing especially. Im 58 WW and I could probably make a good deal logging. I tried finding areas on KI for it but no luck, maybe I just missed the link. I'll look again. And Bigboy, I don't appreciate the comment, was looking for help, you didn't have to be rude.
 
Well I don't play anymore so I guess I'll tell ya what I did when I needed a quick buck. Don't know what lvl you are or what lvl you have to be to kill this guy but I never lost more than 100-150 hp as 75MNK/37THF. I went to the Temple of Ugh and farmed Habetrot(be sure to always do a search of the area and see if anyone else is camping him, usually they'll put "x? La theine cbg.", or something like that, we don't camp on top of each other at this NM). Getting to him is easy, if you know how. This NM takes a little bit of work and research to do properly. When I quit twincoons were 100k each and he always drops at least 1, anywhere from 1-4 at a time. Anyway, it was nice for a quick cash pick-me-up if I needed something. That's all I'm gonna tell you about him though, get to work.
 
Come on man. 75 Dragoon and you can't make money? Yeesh. What has this game come to.
 
just buy it like Prophyt, Cua, Grease, Gaebo, and Mightytank who have all admitted to me.

Or camp with them like Syliph, TJM (owner of wigsplitters LS), Colbwa, and so many others have done to help them attain more gil so prices in RL dollars will go down.
 
nah tried the mithra thing once b4, creeped me out a little and also i felt guilty lol. And as for buying it....with prices as high as they are you would have to be nuts to buy it. $800+ right now for 30mil. Used to be as low as $450 for that much. (No I did not buy gil ever, was just fun to see how much people were actually paying for it)
