You are now forced to put in <t> or <me> etc to cast a spell/JA. Is this to make people use macros for all spells/ja? I always manualy typed dia/bio/poison because sometimes casting them can mess things up badly.

its like a change that no one can be happy about :p

If your smart, you use <t> and <me> anyways. More fail-safe.

How exactly is it more fail-safe?

Cause you know, the guy who doesn't even have one job passed 35 and lied about being in endgame should be given someone else who has several jobs at 75 and has a relic weapon advice...

If i'm casting on me, I'l have myself targeted, (usualy just Reraise) but casting dia/poison I always type it, and putting in <t> makes a 1-3 secs longer.

When its on others, its usualy raise, or erase, everything elce I go to the magic list.

But its still a change that no one asked for. and just makes life harder.

hopfuly enoph people complain to get it changed back. tho by then I'l be used to it, or give up typing spells out, but I'd be demanding more macro room.

Demand that magic list manual sorting should be permanent.

Then put the spells you don't want to waste a macro slot on at the top of the list.

Faster than typing.

There was a bug that allowed you to change the monster id that a lack of target defaulted to (normally it was yourself), and then you could use the typed out spell with no target to circumvent the claim patch. Changing it to require < t > eliminates that bug.

Zingerrrrr.

I don't know if it still works but I used to skip the brackets and just use the letter T for ranged attacks and simple spells. My installation got nuked by the update bugging out so I can't test just yet.

So like for ranged attacks I'd type

/ra t

just /ra didn't work but with the t, it did.

It doesn't work, I already tried. I used to do /ra ppa for ranged attacks. <_<

Oh god. I hope this isn't true. If it is, they may never change it back, and if they don't, my entire WHM playstyle is utterly screwed until I kick a habit I've had forever. :/

...no.

... no. <t> sucks. <stnpc> and <stpc> are immensely safer.

Besides, as a WHM, if you're going to cure others in the alliance, its faster to just type /ta "2 letters of their name" *tab*, then go to the bottom of the list by pressing the up arrow once, since everyone in your alliance already is in your auto-translate. Writing 2 letters of their name cuts it down a bit so that you'll only have 1, maybe 2 at the most, names to chose from. Once that is done, you can use one of your macroes to cure them. The whole process takes maybe 1/2 of a sec to do <.<

As a BLM and RDM, I already macroed everything. The only time I needed to manually type spells were in unique situations, and then I already wrote <t> as a habbit <.< As I mentioned earlier, as WHM I just write, as an example, /ta da *tab > up* to select Dayner and cure him.

..... this is actually a problem for people?

I guess, apparently I was the only whm who actually used macros so this doesn't effect me at all. Interesting to see there was such a wildly different play style though.

That's what I thought when I first read this. My macro bank has always had them, and when I'm going manual I always end up typing the <t> out of habit. :old:
