You need to set up your domain. Using the ADD domain feature and making sure its all pointed to your domain that you should have paid for by now. Since your using JATOL like i reccomended you need to log in to the Frequently asked questions part of the site like you see on the side of the plesk configuration board.
i say this because you NEED to make sure your domain is paid for! there will be a notice of a Invoice if it has not been paid.
Your web adress wont even show your page if thats not paid for.
After your site is uploaded it may take 72+ hours for your adress to propogate amongst servers and work when you try to connect to the adress.
now the part of getting a webpage to come out of this.
I showed you that you could either A. Build the website from scratch using HTML and PHP as i have for the OH site
which i understand is not an option for you.
so you can
B. google or yahoo search for FREE HTML templates, find a design you like and download it.
now when you download it, its not gonna look like you want it to look. So youll need to edit your graphics that come with it in a image editor like photoshop or my personal fave Jasc Paint Shop Pro.
youll also need to get an html editor like Front page.
That way you can edit your text and links easy without knowing html. This is even nice for those who know HTML, but its better to know at least a little HTML so you can tweak and fix things that the html editor just wont do correctly.
HTML is quite easy and i reccomend you look that up and learn a little of it.
Once you have your webpage edited the way you want it. Your gonna need to get it online.
Download an FTP program (this is the easiest way to do this)
Programs like Cute FTP
or my personal favorite WSFTP pro.
Put in your info into the ftp program and then save it, and click connect.
if you connected you will see a window with alot of folders
the folder you want to open it HTTPDOCS (it may or may not say public next to it, but you want the public one)
Now that your in that folder put all your files for your website inside the HTTPDOCS folder. if theres seperate folders for your images, make sure you make an image folder and put your images in that seperate folder or else they wont show up on your page.
Make sure the MAIN part of the site is named INDEX.html OR Index.php.
im sure youll want a web forum.
go to
HTTP://www.phpbb.com and download PHPBB
unzip that folder and put the ENTIRE folder in your HTTPDOCS folder.
now in your plesk, click on your domain then click on the icon that says DATABASE, create a name for your database, Example: Forum.
Now go to
http://www.youradresshere.com/phpBB2
youll see in installation page.
type in ALL your info
where it says database name, type in the one you already made, skip username and password for the database, then click install.
you will now have a messageboard. Delete the INSTALL and CONTRIB folders from your PHPBB2 directory as this prevents hackers. well, really low skilled hackers that is XD
